ND can't best the best of college football athletes.

Well, they sure as hell hung in a lot closer than any of Kelly’s teams did.

Ohio state was the better team, but Notre Dame put up more points in last night’s game than any of Kelly’s did in his championship/playoff games combined.

Kelly coaches a soft brand of football that won’t win titles. Accept it, enjoy the rare big wins, and hope Woodward doesn’t hamstring the program for another decade with his next hire.

That game wasn’t close at all. Ohio state could’ve scored 70. They took their foot off the gas out of respect.

Yes he did. He took over a horrible situation, Freeman did not.

You’re right. Notre Dame would have to get it done in a down year like Michigan did.

It was a down year. ND still couldn't do it. Ohio State had two losses.

Yeah. One to the second best team in the country. It was a down year by league standards, but this Ohio State team is damn strong

Another idiot “fan” chimes in. I will ask the question:

Who would you have hired in 2021?

Waiting to see how long it is before MF sees the handwriting on the wall and moves on as well. ND is a prestige job for sure but sooner or later the itch will hit to go to a more mainstream job. He will get offers.

ND will never win another national championship in football. It wouldn’t matter if Nick Saban was their head coach. They are incapable of getting the skill position players to make a complete team.

And what about the 2 years prior to this one where Kelly finished ranked ahead of ND after taking over the worst lsu situation in decades? Kelly left ND as a top 5 program and went to a dumpster fire and yet that dumpster fire finished ahead of ND in 22 and 23.

No that doesn’t matter to the inbred fricktard rat eating swamp trash fans here who hate BK because he’s got an IQ higher than a rat turd. They want to go back to having 2 star players and less than 85 scholarship players on the team with Ed O as the head coach because he was “one of them”. Thats all that matters to that group of irrelevant sub humans who probably should be euthanized for the betterment of the world.

He’s gonna say some dumbass answer like “lane Kiffen” because they’ve convinced themselves he’s “kicking arse” at Ole Miss (even though he’s doing about exactly where they have performed for the last 30 years).

Couldn’t have beaten any of the last 15 national championship teams.

Maybe Michigan last year but that team was just as weak as this OSU team.

The stars seemed to align for ND to win it this year. A favorable bracket, getting past the big bad SEC team (albeit without their starting qb), making it to the championship. And yet they still couldn’t pull it off. If they couldn’t do it this year, they never will.
Honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see them lose 3-4 games next year

Michigan last year isn’t even close to this Ohio State team. Who from that team is or will be successful in the NFL?

Half of this Ohio State team will start on Sundays next year and the year after.

Michigan was lucky to play Washington and a piss poor Milroe.

As for the rest of the years, yes, this Notre Dame team would not have beaten any of them

It has nothing to do with NIL. Notre Dame players are required to have higher academic standards than your typical school. When Holtz was there, the university allowed him to sign four or five players who normally could not be admitted. In some instances, some of these players became embarassments to the University. That policy was dropped and will never happen again.

They made the best possible run they could have.

If they play Georgia 10 times they lose 8/10. The last 45 seconds of the first half and opening play of the 3rd quarter sealed that game. If Kirby overrules Bobo at the end of the half, they win that game be a decent margin.

They had an elite offensive and defensive line that allowed them for the most part control the game, especially when offensives turned the ball over. They just couldn't win the type of games like against Ohio State.

Their line of scrimmage play was very impressive for the entire playoffs. That is the kind of play we want to see on our teams to compliment our athletes. Because unlike ND we have the elite athletes at the skill position to win national championships when we have interior dominance like that.

LOL. BK could not win a SINGLE playoff game as a coach. The new guy won three in a season at ND.

The OP's logic is some serious copium.

But, people are gonna claim Freeman as the new great upcoming coach...with their schedule they will always be in the mix.

It's really a crazy thing when you think about it. If they can squeak out a few wins in postseason with lucky draws, it's great for their program. Otherwise, this is going to be their curse - because they'll keep getting beat on the big stage.

ND is happier with Freeman than lsu fans are with Brian Kelly. Brian Kelly has yet to prove a damn thing while at lsu. $100 million dollars just too make it to the cheese it bowl every year is not enough. Still getting embarrassed by bama at home. How long am I supposed to wait? He has one more year to prove himself. I was as excited as anyone when we hired him but we need results. Y’all say we can’t afford to let him go but I don’t think our brand can afford another 8-4 season.
