36 hours later and that game is still gnawing at me. I think it’s because even though we played so poorly, we were given multiple chances to win and squandered them.

I’m not hopping off of the Kiffin bandwagon yet, as many others seem to be doing. However, Saturday night was a bad look for the players and the coaches. They lost to a team with inferior talent. They looked sloppy and unorganized.

Get used to it.. think of the SEC as the NFL now. Most games will come down to the last possession, talent is more equal, road games are hard, etc.

The days of trotting our loaded 2-deep up to Starkville and winning 45-0 are long gone..

What are you talking about? How did I say or even imply that?

What were your expectations in year one of the Kiffin era?

What were your expectations for year one of the previous couple dozen coaches we’ve had?

It hurts worse than OM because at least with OM, they have Chambliss, a great player made some great plays and it took every bit of heroics by him to eek out a win at home. Easier to just tip your cap and move on from that, sometimes a great player (especially at QB) wills a team to a win over a superior team.

I don't think Minchey is a bad QB but he's no Chambliss. It felt a lot more like we gave it away and beat ourselves more than the other team beating us. A bad angle on the first play on defense gives up a 70 yard rush, punt return TD where our guy had him in his arms and just...couldn't finish the tackle, a goal line stand where Minchey appeared to be stopped but allowed to play on, not going for a 4th and 1 that would have completely ended the game if converted even despite all the stuff mentioned previously.

Yeah this one hurts a lot.

I had us 9-3 this year.

I’m not throwing the towel. I’m just saying it stings because we played like arse in a game that we could have won. That’s on the coaches and players.

I don’t think the sky is falling. I think this team is much better than last year. It’s just frustrating because we could have and should have won Saturday night.

Yeah, the loss sucks.

But I just completely disagree with this.

1. Be able to beat teams with much less talent.
2. Be able to beat other coaches that his salary more than doubles.
3. Be able to make it halfway though the season and still have a legitimate shot to make the CFP.

If anyone thinks there isn't vast improvement already from the BK era they haven't been paying attention. This is after Kiffin slapped a roster together in 3 weeks time to evaluate in the portal. 3 weeks. Not an entire season where they evaluate and then piece it together come portal time.

He's overachieving with a bunch of mediocre guys at WR/OL. Defense is purely on Baker. Kiffin is not a defensive guy. Straight up. Baker is underachieving, Kiffin is overachieving. You also have to factor in SL had 1 month practice coming into this season with 9 months of rehab.

I know the jokes are next year U but this team will be completely different next year giving Kiffin all the time in the world to put together roster he fully wants. SL is posed to take a big leap next year as well. He's not far from being elite if he can remove his bad decision making ability playing hero ball.

It's the first time a loss actually pissed me off in over 10 years.

Just sucks.

It hurt more because the win was given to UK.

3 TD’s off terrible ref decisions

It stings because the more talented team lost. Also, because we had several opportunities to win on. Next up, our play calling and scheme on defense. Lastly, because many calls were missed.
