Do you remember Miles' assessment of Crowton when he was hired? The best OC in college football sounds familiar.

I think most agree that is what LSU needs and JJ has not given that to the team. He has been far below decent! 110th out of 116th is no where near decent!

Most of last years offense was throwing something against the wall and seeing if it sticks. No rhyme or reason. Not many plays were setup.

At times I could see what the wiz was trying to do.

Cam had it easy, a play from the playbook?

So can we pick and choose what plays we take away to fit our arguments now?

How bout this for picking and choosing? JJ's team scores 4/6 of his possessions. JL and ZM both 1/4.

JJ plays withj the #1's and goes against the backups.

JL and Mett play with the backups and go against the #1's.

bullshite. Players played both ways. 9 players that would normally see significant playing time didnt even participate. Plus i dont see much of a diff between the 2's and 3's in the secondary. considering that mo, brooks, simon and tyrann will all be on he field at one time in some packages. And simon made 2 of the best plays in the secondary.

Also please tell me how the wr depth chart looks like? The only given is that Randle will be our #1.

while there was some switching on D, JJ played exclusively with the 1's and Lee until the 2 minute drill was with the 2's and Mett with the 2's and threes. Do you really think Jefferson with his 4-14 was key in the ones moving the ball? Or maybe Ware in which case whichever of the three was in could have handed to him!

i once recall a lot of people not caring about the stats. Just keeping the drives going and getting points when we should. Something that was lacking last 2 seasons.
If the players and coaches are going to be more confident with JJ in the huddle then he is going to be it. If not then the other qbs will play.

You cant discount JJ's 43 yds on the ground. White had 192 yds, purple 142. seems like they ran it just fine against the 1s.

By this 1's and 2's logic blue ran 9 for 51 with a weak oline, weak wr blocking against a stronger dline and stronger lb corp. But no one is praising him.

One of the scoring drives was from a 46 yrd pass to ware from JJ. Both conrtibuted

Another one JJ ran for 27, ware for 21. Both contributed.

The 1st TD ware ran for 26 and JJ passed for 48. Both contributed.

Another, ware ran for 17, JJ ran for 6 threw for 13 and an incomplete that resulted in an 8yrd penalty because of defensive holding.

No this is why Krag will be the OC and stay the entire season!

quote:

he will let "The Kreg" develop JJ into a very decent qb for LSU

Its bascially too late for that. Sure he may improve a little here or there but this late in the development of JJ is not enough time.

He is what he is. JJ has talent but isnt leading or making plays and reads fast enough. I doubt he can at this point. Not a knock but he's just not a SEC caliber QB.

I am cautiously optimistic in JJ. . .

. . .But I am really excited about what a good QB coach will do for Mett.

name a mediocre player who has had a ton of playing time and who suddenly just came out one year and was a new player the next?

Jason Campbell: 2003 - 10TD, 8Ints; 2004 - 20TD, 7Ints

Missing out the 61.8% completion percentage, 2267 yards and 132.6 QB rating from his Junior Year as well... While the TD/INT ratio wasn't great the other numbers were not bad.
I am not sure why people try to compare Campbell and Jefferson. Jefferson is more of a runner than what Campbell ever was. Campbell was a better quarterback however. Everyone tries to state how bad Campbell junior season was yet he was rated right where Jefferson Sophomore season was (which everyone believes was his best numbers wise and it was) so Campbell's worst season was equal to Jefferson's best? Is that what we are really trying to say?
