i'm pretty sure that LSU started out 4-0 and were ranked in the top 10 (actually top 5) that last 2 years as well and then went on to go 8-5 and 9-4 respectively. thats why most tiger fans like myself are complaining about an offense thats ranked in the triple digits for the 2nd year in a row. what a waste this year will be if our defense and specials teams continue to perform at their current level and our offense does not improve. i realize theres a chance we could go 10-2 or better even with the offensive problems, but i just don't see it happening without some improvement.

I think people are more angered by Les stubborness and unwillingness to try out other options at QB. Lee threw alot of int, and was benched for his ineptness.

Again, I would like to see Lee too, but I am not always sure it is worth the risk with this Defense. Imagine if he had thrown a pick 6 up 20-14 Saturday when WVU was unlikely to score on their own merit. I am more in favor of playing Lee when we are down, than when we are up - which we haven't really been yet.

why can't the staff just make the damn adjustment.

Not only this, but it's the coaching staffs inability to explain why they didnt make adjustments.

lsumatt - I think its the very fact that we have this great defense and special teams and still cannot move the ball on offense that is the cause of angst. Even with an ok offense, this is one of those championship caliber teams.

Our anaemic offense, on current form may end up costing a shot at something special. After 2 difficult years, this is the year people have been waiting for and it may slip away unless Les makes a change.

Exactly... Our defense is for real this year, even if Lee does throw picks they will stop them... At least with Lee he isnt scared to put the ball up in the air... I am convinced that our receivers are ready to make a statement... Its just a matter of getting the ball to them

We might finish 8-5 (at the very worst imo) and I will complain then.

How will you feel when you look back and see that we might have been 11-2 if a change had been made?

But if a struggling player is not benched to allow another an opportunity to dfdo better, the questions will remain unanswered and we will have to accept the eventual outcome.

Last time I checked we have done that.

JJ did that? frick, I must have missed it. I thought PP scored a few times and our field goal kicker's leg almost fell off.

I would take a pick six per game, 250 PYA and a couple of TD passes Vs. 75 PYA and 2 INT's with our D and special teams. I know this wouldn't be the case evry game but, you see what I mean. No doubt I hope Jefferson pulls it together but it's not looking to promising.

Sure, enjoy the 4-0 moment, but you have to recognize that the light at the end of the tunnel is the headlamp of an oncoming train.

No one has confidence that the QB problem will be fixed in time for the tough stretch that lies ahead.

Sort of like the pick JJ threw where the man had to trip HIMSELF to keep from scoring?

You mean like that???

But to bitch and moan about a top 10 team with one flaw at the QB position is ridiculous.

that one flaw is dragging this team from NC caliber down to 4th in the SEC West.

that one flaw has never gotten better, and after 18 starts there's no reason to think he ever will.

that one flaw is obvious to everyone on earth, but Miles wont even TRY to fix it.

that one flaw has just doomed us to another year of mediocrity, when every other piece is in place to cut the legs out from bamas "dynasty" before people start thinking its real.

Eh, I still think this is a rebuilding year and 2011 should be our year full of seniors. But the issue is what change should be made. While I am willing to give Lee a shot, we all have short memories. Although our defense was BAD, we were giving up 50 points in some games largely because of pick 6s and bad field position due to interceptions.

I actually understand this logic, however, I think its a little bit flawed in the fact that having Jefferson in there in a 20-14 game is the safer bet, our offense has nearly 0 chance of grinding the clock and killing the game. With Lee, we dont know if it would even be a 20-14 game with the added offensive production, but we do know that lee can convert 3rd downs through the air, unlike Jefferson...... Lesser of 2 evils????IDK...

I don't care if Lee plays or not, all I want to see is improvement in the passing game.

We may lose Peterson this year which would be a huge hole. He's the best player on this team.

True - no question that pick 6s hurt us but Lee also put up points. We have to give him an opportunity to show us he's improved. How badly does JJ have to play for us to do this? Moreover, do we have to lose a game before making a change?

we were 4-0 the last 2 years and how did those seasons turn out?? did we have the PERFORMANCES to sustain those results??? HELL NEAUX. end of discussion. we need some offense and quickly in the passing game if we want to win the west.

yes, matt, the defense WAS bad then... and according to some around here, it was only fixed when Chavis just stumbled into Baton Rouge trying to follow the sound of pissing and moaning (and booing) over malveeto.... they think THEY fixed that problem, and it's up to them to fix this one too!!

This is getting way out of hand

What has LSU football come to that we can't enjoy an undefeated team and a top 10 ranking? Is LSU football really only going to be fun for us for the rest of our lives if we win 11 games a year AND dominate in those games? There was a time that going 8-5 and winning the Peach Bowl was a blast, but the fanbase is miserable with this?

Not to burst your bubble, but it was a Beautiful Day Outside today. Just ignore the fact there are at least 2 tropical threats heading to the Gulf of Mexico, and your Flood and Wind insurance is getting ready to expire. Prepare and make the necessary adjustments, and you will not get burnt.
