I do think a lot of people have a new found appreciation for Will Wade. I guess it wasn’t just recruiting he was good at.
He’s a solid basketball coach.

I didn't mention recruiting in this specific discussion, but one could argue if you have issues with properly evaluating talent and managing said talent that this might be a recurring issue, maybe a weakness. And if that's the case it might persist. To me that's literally common sense.
Your argument seems to be that time - or a full off-season will fix what might be inherent weaknesses.
If these things, evaluation, roster management are issues as we agree, CMM will have to admit they are weaknesses and change those. Are you sure he will admit so such and then take the proper steps? That to me is your leap of faith.
I hope you are correct, I really do.

That's just my thing on this mc, and we can't seem to find a middle ground here so I'll quit after this, if evaluating talent is a weakness, I don't know if a year more here makes it better or easier, it's still a weakness.

I'm not a basketball expert by any means, but what's most telling to me is that this team doesn't even do the fundamentals well. Ball handling, passing, blocking out, etc. All atrocious. That isn't a talent issue. You can teach a 5th grader to block out. Every time we pass the ball I expect a turnover. It's ridiculous.

It’s our next recruiting class. People can deal with a bad season if they see some hope. Look at the next recruiting class and tell me if there is hope.
Now maybe he has a plan in the portal and we have to let that play out. MM isn’t known as a big recruiter and he is lifeless on the court and in interviews. So he isn’t inspiring confidence in the fan base and we aren’t really seeing a plan come together.
The portal can help us and hurt us. He just doesn’t seem like the type of aggressive, do whatever it takes kind of guy that’s going to make a splash like Wade did.
