This game reminds me nothing of the 2005 Bama game
The way i remember it, is that everyone was kind of waiting for Bama and expecting Bama to eat it
Pretty sure LSU was the team expected to win a close one by the talking heads
I feel the same way.
Alabama's offense was atrocious. I knew we were going to win.
This game can go either way.

Yeah, that movie almost single-handedly put me in the Naval Academy.
Thankfully, LSU came through with a better offer.

I have a VERY similar feeling this week. This year #6 LSU travels to #4 Auburn. These Auburn fans have the same feeling. They really think that this is their year. They think there is NO WAY they lose to this LSU team. Fortunately, I'm going to be at this game as well. I have a very good feeling that I am going to watch history repeat itself.
you big idiot, u just jinxed us

I was at that game as well. My then girlfriend's (now wife) dad let me and a buddy have two of his tickets.
We were literally the only people moving or making a sound in the section we were in after JR's TD pass in OT. Once we were outside the stadium, I could have sworn we were in BR. The "L-S-U" chant sounded like it was coming from 90,000 people! Even my Bama future in-laws stranding us after the game didn't make that night any less awesome.

that may have set a record for the transition from extremely loud to dead quiet in about 25 milliseconds...

Dont Auburn games usually have something messed up happen? If its close they win because of that. Hopefully we show up in all phases and make this a boring game for Auburn fans.

I seem to recall everyone feeling as though Alabama was undefeated on paper, but really hadn't faced a tough team yet.
what's weird is, everyone is saying this about us. Thanks for the vote of confidence

This Game EXACTLY Reminds Me of the Bama Game in 2005
In 2005, #5 LSU traveled to Tuscaloosa to play #3 Alabama. That game was also a 2:30 CBS game.
Yep I thought about this today. Same feeling, and I think the same outcome. I hope its less stressfull though!

It was defintiely surreal. We were on the shite end of a lot of shite talk earlier, so we went overboard on the jubilation, as if we just found out that the humans defeated the aliens in a mankind threatening attack. If looks could kill, I wouldn't be here to tell about it.
After the game, when we were stranded on the street in front of a frat house, trying to call the poeple we were with (who never answered the phone that night), a fratastic douche was arrested for coming at us saying he was going to kill us. It was great.

holy shite. I'm still trying to figure out how that plane didn't hit that crane

I was at that game in Tuscalusa, and EYEDOCNO has the whole atmosphere nailed perfectly - the Gumps were thoroughly convinced they were bound for a NC.

At the 2005 game. That plane was not small from my seat I was at the very top of the stadium. Not trying to make lite of 9/11 but I thought that plane was going straight into the stadium.
I always had this belief that if muslims really wanted to scare the shite out of Americans. Crash a plane into a big football stadium.

It's the truth brother think about. 2001 LSU at UT two weeks later after 9/11. Idon't think I've ever been more nervous in my life.

Bama in 2005 beat a highly ranked Florida team that finished the season with 3 losses and Tennessee, ranked #17 at the time (pretty much for beating LSU on the Monday night game), who finished 5-6. We've also beat a highly ranked Florida team that lost and will lose some games after our win and we beat a pretty bad Tennessee team.
I think the main difference is that Bama in 2005 played absolutely no one worth mentioning OOC, but I will just because. Middle Tenn St, Southern Miss, and Utah State. We've played UNC, WVU, and McNeese. UNC and WVU will both be competing for their conference championships late into the season.
Auburn will not be the first time this season we've seen a talented offense. They're the most talented we've seen with Newton, but we've played some decent offensive teams. Auburn, on the other hand, has not yet seen a defense anywhere close to ours. I think that's where the Bama comparison comes in, just roles reversed as far as offense and defense.

By far the best flyover I have ever witnessed.
Agreed.........me and a friend were in the upper deck and it almost appeared that we were even with the plane. It was one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed in person.

I sat here racking my brain trying to figure out why i had no recollection of the 2005 game. Like i had no memory of it, then i remembered why.
I watched the game on espn graphic play by play in a hostel in prague. By overtime i called my dad at a dollar a minute to hear the tv announcers at the end. :csb:
