This game could go the way of a Matt Mauck championship game type scenario

I could see this game playing out just like what happened in Matt Mauck's championship year. Wit reliance on lock down defense, strong running game (Dilin Jones about to have a career game), and Landen Clark running all over the place. Lane may also go against form and slow the tempo way down to keep Chambliss off the field and I'll start having flashbacks to 2003.
I can't wait til Saturday night. This will be epic!!!

I disagree he does this. OM has shown that they get gassed. he is gonna try to wear them out.

Regardless of who plays QB, I expect Ole Miss to emphasize stopping the run whether that's through personnel or scheme. I expected that for Leavitt. I certainly expect it for Clark.
I have never, however, felt more comfortable with our staff being able to create ways to attack whatever Ole Miss shows on defense.
It's been a long time since I felt as comfortable with LSU being able to shut down whatever Ole Miss tries on offense.
Today, I feel good about the game.

LSU was so much better than Ole Miss. We threw 3 picks including a pick six and won the game. Our talent level is much closer this time around we cannot afford to throw 3 picks and win the game.

Baker held OM to its lowest point total of the season last year and second fewest average yards per play. That was with a defense who wasn't as talented, overall, as this group (the secondary with Delane last year may have been slightly better, but this year's front 7 is much better than last year's).

The OP was, presumably, talking about the SECCG in 2001. However, the post is a bit confusing with the reference to 2003
