I believe we are a year behind where I thought we would be.

We didn’t do much this year to upgrade our roster.

It really hasn’t though. The best we’ve played all year was game 1 bs USC and we lost.

Looked like arse vs Nicholls and had to have a lot of luck and an injury to SCs starting QB to win there

Then we were in a dogfight with one of the worst offenses in the country before finally pulling away mid third quarter vs UCLA.

We’ve seen the same mistakes in all 4 games. We’ve been remarkably consistent week to week.

i wish the women (they all must be) and children on this board would grow the f up. Class of 95 here. Some guy started a thread that football isn't fun anymore bc of Kelly. My God you are all spoiled, entitled and the biggest bunch of morons ever. If the coach is ruining LSU football for you then you are not a fan. frick you.

Most of the ranters here are born to be negative, nothing is considered positives here, so don’t mind them.

Not trying to be a dickhead, just a serious question. Do we know that this year’s defense is better than Matt House’s year 1 defense?

I understand that people are fatigued with busted plays, but Baker is successfully scheming around weaknesses. We are getting negative plays & stops, and that is an improvement — last year we couldn’t even do that against bad teams.

We haven’t had a lot of continuity in coaching on the defensive side of the ball, but it already just feels better than it has for a while.

Yes they give up too many big plays, but last year was like just hang your head or look away when the defense takes the field. Forcing turnovers, punts, and getting home on rushes and blitzes.

Let's not act like a win next week is a given. I fully expect to win, but USA is probably better than SC and UCLA. They dismantled App St and could have named the score against them.

After watching UTn dominate OU yesterday on the road why bother prognosticating upcoming LSU W's and L's much less playoffs?

You think South Carolina is a bad team?

nobody was dumb enough to bet LSU -23.5

A guy in our section was booing when LSU didn't try to score on the last drive up by 17.

2019 really spoiled a lot of you, winning always takes some luck and you always have close games and games where you look bad.

Go back and watch the 2007 season again, they beat 4-8 Tulane 34-9, barely gutted out a victory vs 9-4 Florida, lost to 8-5 Kentucky, beat 9-4 Auburn on the last play of the game, played a very close game vs 7-6 Alabama (who also lost to ULM), and also lost to 8-5 Arkansas.

And that's a literal national championship team.

I do too, I just don't think it's a forgone conclusion, and if these people think it's a forgone conclusion this board gets melts when the team faces adversity during the game.

There’s a reason Kelly is playing younger guys now. He’s getting them to be experienced vets by next year with our incoming class.

I get what you are saying, but I’m not talking about last year’s defense. I’m talking about the 2022 defense.
