True, but not because TJ can’t handle Auburn.

Nothing to suggest Auburn will have any more luck than South Carolina at stopping our O or “exposing” TJ.

That's why we need motion to make the defense declare coverage

He will struggle. But hopefully there’s a chance late for him to drive us down to win, ice or keep the game close so we can see how he handles the pressure.

The thing that stood out to me was the speed of the game didn't bother Finley. He looked more like a seasoned QB than the freshman he is.

After the first game they hated Brennan blaming him for the defense giving up 600+ yards passing to essentially a backup QB.

I don't hate Brennan and I think he's the starter when he gets back, but they disliked (as well as myself) that Brennan was seeing ghost and running out of the pocket too soon far too often in the first game. He settled down the 2nd and 3rd game. But this kid wasn't rattled his first game out of high school in P5 football. That is very impressive.

The kid is used to getting knocked around and not having the best talent around him while still persevering. To him, LSU is an upgrade from a old Buick to a Bugatti. It's simply a different mentality.

He didn't panic after the defense tried to rough him up when they knocked him to the ground and he stayed in the pocket unless truly forced outside. USCe tried to rough him up whenever he was on the ground and he got back up to run the next play pissed and confident, not scared. Those guys tried their best to intimidate him early on, but it didn't get in his head and he didn't get scared. IMO, he's a young QB with immense talent and an ultimate competitor who will make mistakes being young, but has huge upside.

Is Finley adept at recognizing coverages and if not: 2. Have the coaches simplified reads vs zones to simple key reads of one defender.

Agreed. Burrow said the offense was designed to key off one defender to identify where the play will materialize. It appears to me they are coaching him well. On a side note, I expect for them to use the look that caused Burrow a bit of trouble last year. My expectation is that we are anticipating that look.

They didn't have him throwing the ball 20 plus yards down the field like they do with Brennan for a reason

They didn't have him throwing down the field early because they wanted to get him comfortable by getting the ball out of his hands quickly rather than holding on to it too long. As the game went on they took what they were given, but he also put some balls in some tight windows on the money.

You're not a real LSU Tiger Fan. I'm hoping he becomes the SEC freshman of the year and a 3 time all-American! Wtf, how can you pull against any kid who dones the purple and gold LSU helmet and goes to battle for The Louisiana State University? It's called natural selection and it's supposed to happen. Wow, it's amazing that you have a so called LSU fan like yourself wanting an LSU QB to not play well. If you just watch his post game comments and the comments from his family before the game, how can you not root for his success. TJ and his family are all about wanting the best for LSU. We should all feel that way, whether it's Myles, TJ or Max out on the field, because I know all of those young men will try their best to get a win for the fighting Tigers. Something is really wrong with you. Get some help!

Not sold on this kid at all. We played a bipolar team on their downswing while finally establishing the run. Everyone acting like he’s some Godsend that will lead us to consistent victory based on that is concerning

Even if you dont consider them going deep downfield with him a lot, the majority of these passes are not dinks and dunks. Most are right at the 10 yard mark or just shy or just past it. And with the receivers we have who can make plays after the catch, what the hell is wrong with dinking and dunking?

What if he plays very well? Also good to know you’re wanting him to fail

I call this “I would rather be right than happy” syndrome. Knew many people in business who thought this way as well.

For the record, I think it’s a good idea to pump the breaks based on one performance. He did have a very good game but it is only one game.

Based upon how good our offense looked last weekend I doubt it highly. TJ played well - there’s no reason to expect this offense with TJ to implode coming off a monster week were we put up almost 600 yards (most all season fyi).

Defense is what worries me.

I doubt he struggles to perform. It was only one game against a crappy SC team, but his mechanics and so few mistakes make me believe he will do as well or better.

Well, I watched Brennan look like a lost child against State. He was terrified. He’s been here for 4 years now. Finley has been here since January and didn’t remotely look like the moment was too big for him.

The kid has a ton of upside but if Myles is healthy he needs to play. You can’t have him coming back to Bama on the road.
