LSU is trying to bully BK into settling for less money because if not they will parade a list of witnesses to show how he wasn't fulfilling his job duties or meeting his moral obligations. BK will have to decide if he wants all of that (whether credible or not) in the public record.

i mean, is there a worse light that he could be painted in at this point?

also, who wouldn't be willing to be painted in the worst light for $54,000,000?

He's already decided. He filed the suit, not LSU. That tells me that BK is not worried about any "dirt" LSU supposedly has on him, which is not good for LSU.

There are already photos of him wearing a purple shirt, the recruitment video, the fist slam, and the fake accent. Honestly, I don’t think he cares at all.

If true, Great. F this dirtbag, suck-arse of a coach. He basically stole $10 million a year bragging how he was going to win an NC and couldn't even sniff the playoffs.

I don't understand anyone wanting to pay this man his full salary. You try every angle you can to get him to settle for less. It may not work, but try much harder than he tried to win here.

not true His suit may be based entirely to prevent LSU from making the just cause case by getting summary judgement on whether SW fired him on Sunday without cause. If he was technically terminated on Sunday without giving cause LSU can't come back later and say it was for cause.

I don’t know. If LSU really had information that could damage BK in a substantial way, I have to think his lawyers would have told him to stand down, take whatever buyout LSU offers and not file a lawsuit that might make said information public.

Well our leadership was stupid enough to give him a contract with no expectations for performance

It is a bad look for both parties. Kelly is absolutely damaged goods at this point and will never coach a major program again. He knows that and is trying to get all that he can.

Geez. That is not how trials work. If a witness gets under oath and “paints someone in a bad light”, then that person will then need to hire a lawyer.

Facts that can be proven or disproven is all there is.

BK is just calling LSUs bluff on this one. It’s not going to look good for LSU to raise the morality clause issue when LSU had knowledge of it for some time, but didn’t raise it as a reason for termination until after LSU started losing. It’s going to look pretty bad for LSU to have “looked the other way” when everyone thought this season was heading towards a potential national championship, but then invoke it to save some money on a buyout when the season starting spiraling the other direction.

I suspect both sides will play chicken until the ultimate point where details need to be made public and court appearances have to occur. At that point, the weaker side of the case will capitulate. Should take awhile before that stage is reached.

What you want to do is fairly meaningless when a contract is involved

Also, some people have this weird Idea that you should honor your commitments, even when they were a mistake.

Isn't his lawsuit just asking for LSU to decide if they will be firing him for cause or not? And, if that violates the contract?

None of this other stuff even matters at this point.

Starting to wonder if every LSU coach sleeps with their realtor. Good little set up they have.
