Of all the stats the most egregious was third down defensive efficiency. That team was ranked 116 out of 130.

Sub par d line pressure + LB’s poor in coverage + the worst db group in school history + passing downs = bad 3rd down efficiency

I’m fine with House being fired but enough with the dumb shite.

Seems better than I remember. The defense I saw couldn't literally get worse.

And so many times it was third and long. I don’t know how many times I was looking for some kind of blitz on those third and long downs. It takes time to run a route to pick up a first down in those situations. So blitz to shorten the time the quarterback and receiver have to complete the pass. But it was almost exclusively only rushing 4.
I know the DC didn’t trust the secondary. But try something different….what you are trying wasn’t working.

All of this.

Someone said it best, "does anyone think LSU has the 116 out of 130 talent"?

There is something very wrong with the coaching.

It’s even worse that tard house highlighted how critical it was and he never got better

So many critical stops blown. We could easily be 10-2 or 11-1 at worst.

That stat the OP put out there made this, for me, the most frustrating year to watch LSU. Even more so than the Miles offenses

They’re supposed to play defense on 3rd down too? Dang!

I started by looking up total defense, which is 101st and was curious about this one not expecting it to be this bad. The number of third and long converted was mind boggling. I recall thinking, just run on third and long and go for it on fourth down every time you crossed your own 45.

It was the same as last year's defense also but this year's team was historically bad on 3rd down.

What was so hard to fathom for me was that in many instances alot of yards were needed to get a first down. The chances of converting those were really low but not for that defense.
