Hoping to help with those staying in and around Frankfort Ky for the game. I’ll update with events happening this weekend at bars
I live in Frankfort and I’m going to the game. Wanted to give anyone that is going to the UK game a list of things to do. Obviously Keeneland is going to be a hit but I’d stay on “The Hill” and not go in. Yes you can bet on the hill
P.S. this is for my Frankfort people…. 30 mins from Lexington where the game is
Bourbon:
Castle and Key: my favorite. Hiking and beautiful
Buffalo trace: the best bourbon. Cheap drinks and good lunch
Woodford… duh
Mid-day late day drinks:
Pourters: self serve beer and cool atmosphere. Great appetizers and usually food trucks
-edit- Oktoberfest weekend-
Rocky’s: golf course vibe with bands and beers
Dinners:
Miguel’s Mexican restaurant. My fave. Best margs
Mami machitas: Honduran. Best steak I’ve ever had
Bourbon on Main: on the River with a pretty view
Hiking and Breweries:
West 6 farm: so much fun drinking at the farm brewery and hiking
Cove springs: ton of trails
Bars:
The Bourbon Library is really fun. Classic bourbon bar
There are a few bars on the “brick alley” downtown that are ok

I was going to add the Ark but it’s just outside of Frankfort. It is a really good time, especially for kids

Place is absolutely depressing. Go to BT then leave.

You might need an ark with all the rain kentucky is going to get for the game

Just did the Buffalo Trace Tour a week ago. Awesome. Tickets are free, but the book up regularly. Do it if you cam get tickets - confident you’ll enjoy!

A complete sh*t hole. Had to stay there because we couldn't get a hotel room in Lexington for the '07 triple overtime loss

What's with all the drinking and hiking? Is it just me, or are those things that don't normally go together.
