No. Winning our midweek games would not have put us over the hump to host.

Embarrass us?
Hahahaha okay, we’ll see about that.

Oregon State is going to try an embarasss LSU

I have zero doubt if that team and fanbase could choose ANY team they want to face in the postseason it would be LSU.

They're going to be jacked.

Holy shite, the whiners in this thread... Suck it up, ya pansies! We had a down year, but managed to work our way in - quit bitching about where we were placed.

Geaux Tigers! Rep us well in OR

They hold like 3K people in Corvallis. I’m certain that’s not why.

I see this as a great opportunity. We had unbelievable injuries to overcome. Had a mediocre year by LSU standards but ended up playing some of our best ball of the year in the SEC tourney. ALL the pressure is on Or St. We have zero to lose and zero to prove. Believe me- those Beaver fans that know baseball are not comfortable at all with this draw. They’ll thump their chests and act like they want us there- while secretly sweating it out.

We were 10-4 midweek games. You really think we should be undefeated in midweek games?

Maybe 41-19 gives us a regional with this SEC record, maybe not. Either way, losing to the teams that we lost to midweek hurt.

Exactly and considering how Beck, Fontenot, Sanders and Peterson pitched this past week; they best buckel up.
This LSU team found some arms we didn’t have most of the year.

Oregon State should be nervous not LSU.
We had to fight to get in and guess what ? I think we win that Regional.

GEAUX TIGERS!

We earned a 3 seed and we're given a 2 seed. We weren't close to hosting and the midweek games didn't have any effect on that. If we won them all we would have just been a legit 2 seed instead.

Other than the distance I don't think it is all that bad. Oregon State is untested because their conference is down this year and we won't have to play another SEC team until Omaha. Bring it on.

Well...

We finished 37-25. Lost 4 games to ULL, Tulane and Southeastern- win those (as we're supposed to) and we're 41-21. That makes us marginal as last regional host, especially considering the run in the SEC tourney.

If you go ahead and figure in some other bad OOC losses- lost 2 of 3 to Notre Dame to start the season at home, lost one to Hawaii also at home;
that's 3 more. Couple that with the midweek games and that would put us at 44-18, definite host and a slim chance at being the last national seed.

Team brought this on themselves, losing games they had no business losing.

LSU eliminates State, as well as two of the top 5 national seeds, and State gets to stay near home and LSU gets sent out to Oregon?

Look, I get the point that we were a bubble team until Thursday, but our resume trumps State's by every measurement.

So you just agreed with me. Midweek games wouldn't put us over the hump. It would have also taken sweeping Hawaii and winNing the ND series.
