There’s only 2 ways Texas beats us.

That is Tom Herman finds and exploits a weakness and we don’t adapt. Looking at this game without bias, I literally don’t see anywhere that Texas has an advantage except for 2 areas. They arguably have a better QB, but that counteracts with us having arguably the best defense since 2011. The only way we get beat on Saturday is being out coached or LSU just plays way below their capability. The other advantage they have is being way more familiar with the spread, but again I think our talent level overcomes that obstacle as well. There’s no excuse for this team to not make the playoffs this year, and I’ve said that all throughout the off-season. Even if we lose to Bama, a one loss LSU team makes it into the playoffs I believe. Especially if we lose to Bama in a close fashion and prove that this isn’t the traditional flat offense of LSU’s past. I think the motivation of O feeling like he has to prove himself that he was the right choice to the fan base, and the head to head challenge with Texas is the ultimate stage for him to do so. That being said I predict LSU 35 Texas 17.

Agreed. The only way Texas beats LSU is if they end up with more points once the clock hits all zeroes.

Turnovers. That's the only way Texas wins.

IBF someone says there's only one way - to score more points.

The only way LSU loses is if the Tigers give the Horns a short field via turnovers and poor special teams play.
They might hit a long pass here or there, but it's doubtful.
Win the turnover battle and LSU wins convincingly.

The only way LSU loses is if they beat themselves like Alabama does.

I don't agree that's the only way they can beat us. Sloppy play, turnovers, crappy officiating, and/or a return to the stagnant offense of the past few seasons could doom us. I have faith that Aranda will make adjustments as needed. However, I'm still concerned that Orgeron, or Ensminger at O's direction, might go conservative if things get tight. We've seen it happen before.

Burrow had a higher QBR in 2018 than Ehlinger. Analytics aren’t the end-all, be-all, but worth mentioning.

there's only 1, it comes down to points... they have to have more of them.

I hear this often in Austin, TX - and I think this statement is true for last year. This year I would argue they are even but only time will tell.

LSU can lose if:
1) We let Ingram and Ehlinger run the ball consistently and control the ball.
2) We fail to tackle their WRs in open space on WR screens.
3) We let their big WRs consistently win jump balls.
4) We fail to pressure their QB.
5) We fail to diagnose their blitzes and Burrow doesn't have any time.
6) We fail to run the ball better than last week.
7) We let the crowd noise affect our communication on offense.
8) We turn the ball over.
9) We get stupid penalties.
10)We struggle to score TDs in the redzone and/or miss a FG or 2.
That's 10 ways that LSU "could" lose to this Texas team. The good news is that we could probably have issues with 5 out those 10 listed items and still win because we are the more talented team. The only 2 items that will almost certainly lose us the game is penalties and turnovers but even those can be overcome if we nail the other 8.

How is it that Ehlinger is a better QB? Serious question

Do not count out the refs.
