“There’s no bad blood between us…it’s looked at as: how can we each get better”

From The Advocate. Nuss told reporters “There’s no bad blood between us. Some people would think that, but it’s not necessarily looked at as a competition. It’s looked at as: How can we each get better”
Jayden Daniels is the first quarterback to sit in the chair in front of the camera, and when Garrett Nussmeier comes in to take his turn, Daniels claps Nussmeier’s hand and pats him on the back. “That’s my little bro” Daniels said Tuesday. “Obviously I’m the older one in the quarterback room just taking him under my wing because at the end of the day. If I miss one game or the time is now, I’m trying to prepare him.”
TTT - Paper explained that despite both being in a very close quarterback battle, both are hesitant to frame it as a competition. LSU fans have some very cool level headed smart quarterbacks seeking to lead LSU this season by whatever means.

Daniels and footwork
Nuss and decision-making
quote:
The quarterbacks are running the same plays in the same offense despite their different styles. Once the starter is named, there will be room for them to add their own “window dressing,” according to Daniels.
“We both could do pretty much the same thing,” Daniels said. “It’s not going to change just because I'm more mobile than Nuss(meier). They're not gonna change different stuff for us: We're going to stay within the offense.”
Daniels and footwork
quote:
Now in a conference where he’ll face aggressive fronts, he’s focusing on his passing footwork to allow him to find receivers with precision in traffic.
“That's probably the biggest thing,” Daniels said. “The rhythm that you drop is going to take you through those progressions.”
Nuss and decision-making
quote:
“I remember a third down — I believe it was against Central Michigan, or it was McNeese — and I took a fader out on the third down where instead if I took the 5-yard out, we would’ve had the first-and-goal. So, situations like that that I've learned or tried to improve on and knowing when it's second-and-short or first-and-10, you can take the shot.”

What would you expect him to say?
"I really hate that SOB"?

Did anyone hear Cauble's questions to them yesterday?
To Daniels - "has anyone told you you're the starter yet?"
To Nuss - "has anyone told you Jayden is the starter yet?"
What the frick Cauble??
Both said no. Nuss also asked him "has anyone told you that yet?"

This is specifically what Kelly mentioned in regards to Nuss and it's key, glad to see he's at least acknowledging that downfall.
Reminds me of the OT game vs Bama with Anthony Jennings when he had a 4th down and had an open field to pick up the first down and get a new set of downs to play with but instead tried to heave it into the end zone into double or triple coverage.

I'm commenting on the questions used by the reporter. Not the answers given.

Which is exactly what he should do.

When Daniels said "or the time is now", he was referring to Nussmeier being the starter. It was a very balanced statement.

The quote is literally Daniels saying, "If the time is now, I'm trying to prepare him."
"If the time is now" refers to Nussmeier being the starter.

Exactly, in no way does Daniels imply that he is the starter.

If anybody doesn't think whoever is the backup QB is secretly pulling for the starter to fail, or get a MINOR injury so they can play and get their shot (the key word here is minor people), they don't understand human nature. Especially regarding 2 highly rated QBs going after the starting job at a football powerhouse.

There’s a few of these fans in every college football program.
