While unlikely to happen, I’d prefer to see something like LSU v Clemson in the Reliaquest Bowl over LSU v Tulane in the Sugar.

The ACC champion is guaranteed a spot in the Orange. So the first part is unlikely unless Clemson loses.

Tulane cannot go to the Sugar. They are obligated to take the highest ranked Big 12 and SEC team not in playoff. Kansas state is guaranteed a spot. Either TCU is in playoff or they Lose and K State wins and still goes to Sugar

Because if we would lose they would end up with a better record and ranking and give everyone ammo all off-season about how Notre Dame made out better by hiring Freeman. It's a lose lose for LSU and Kelly

You havent explained how it’s a lose lose

Us beating them and everyone will say we were supposed to and it's no big deal. We lose and Kelly will be the butt of jokes again .

I wasn’t trying to suggest those matchups could actually happen. Just that I’d prefer to see LSU play a better opponent in a “lesser” bowl game as opposed to a lesser opponent in a “better” bowl game.

For example, there was greater excitement/intrigue to see LSU play No. 9 Miami in the 2005 Peach Bowl then there would have been to see them play Big East champ, No. 11 West Virginia, in the Sugar Bowl.

The Sugar Bowl was the “better” bowl. The Peach was the more appealing matchup

Apparently alot of our fans are more worried about their bragging rights on messageboards as opposed to seeing a quality matchup

Give me the Notre Dame matchup. Every. Single. Time.

So we’re 0-2 in recent history against Kelly/Norte Dame. It’d be very interesting to see if Kelly/LSU could get a W over ND

That’s been out of the equation for weeks.

6-6 Florida is projected to play in the Las Vegas Bowl on 12/17. That’s not a good bowl game.

Idc what bowl game they go to now, they had their chance but blew it. Participation trophies should never be the goal. I know we were picked to barely win 6 games but this is why they play the games. Very proud of the season they had with the adversity in the beginning of the season losing to Florida State and being short on scholarship players etc. Kelly did a great job coaching overall and putting a quality product on the field this season and future is bright. Theycould play in the independence bowl really wouldn’t matter it’s a glorified scrimmage that half your key players opt out of that are going pro. Bowl games are more for the next season seeing some of the guys buried in depth chart getting a chance to build some momentum for the next year, that is about all they are good for outside the playoffs.
