You are going to shite on Blakeney? WTF he played his heart out. I will take players like him over guys like BS any day. At least Blakeney stepped up big in crunch time of several games.
The guy you are worshipping made ONE basket outside the lane in his last 6 games...best player in college my arse

He passed because he didnt want to look bad? What in the hell kind of basketball do you watch? If he wanted to have little pressure, he would've went to Kentucky where he could've passed around and won games with minimal production and would have gotten WAY MORE publicity by the way, and could've kept his number 1 status with less minutes and lower expectations. He chose to come to LSU BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE.
He didn't take the clutch shot because he's not the best offensive player on the floor. So you'd rather Ben take a contested right handed floater 8 ft out than him driving and dishing to Hornsby for the winning shot?
Boy, we have some brains on this board.

He took some of the worst shots I've ever seen. He goes and hurts his team by giving up locker room issues to the public and his production was average to go along with probably the worst court vision I have ever seen. I think he's a good player, but he's extremely selfish. Hustles? Yeah. Team player? Absolutely not.
You're saying you would take a kid who was mid to late 1st round at the beginning of the year, and is non existent in any mock draft in either round for a guy that is a consensus 1st overall pick???
You're right. Me too. Lol

Is it too crazy to think that the team intentionally missed a bunch of shots to show their disgust with the Simmons show? How else do you explain that last game?

Or he just came to LSU because his Godfather was an assistant coach.

Every single LSU game this season. In LSU's very first loss a stinking woman was shaking her head and claiming, "Ben Simmons, the game is on the line, you have to shoot that shot. Don't pass it there, you go win the game." Of course, Kara Lawson only won about 3 national titles at UCONN, what does she know about winning?

Then why in the hell is he the #1 pick? It sure isn't his defense.

Where is Hornsby getting drafted again? You're damn straight I would rather the so called "best pro prospect since Lebron" to take the game winning shot. Tom Brady ain't handing the ball off on 4th and 4. Mike Trout ain't bunting in the 9th inning. And Kobe Bryant ain't passing the ball in the last 5 seconds.

After LSU had choked away the postseason by losing three games in a row to chump teams? Blakeney made that comment with about 2 games left in the regular season. The cat was already out of the bag. Anyone that watches any team sports knew that LSU had internal conflict.

Oh the intentionally missed shots conspiracy theory.
So we abandoned the chance at winning a high profile tournament, and playing in the tournament that those kids spent their whole life dreaming to play in? What?

Ben is 6'10" and wanted to be the point guard and JJ wanted him to play inside. He tried to do both. It just didn't work. This arrangement made the rest of the players regress especially Patterson who was playing so well at the end of last season.

Oh, right so there's an excuse for letting team information leave the team and cause for there to be a distraction before a few of the most important games of the year. You've never been on a team have you?

He is a point guard. It's the evolution of the game, this isn't 1988.

What distraction? The team had just played like absolute dog shite the previous three games and blown the season. All that was left was for a miracle. Blakeney's comments had 0% effect on how the last few games played out.
Now, how much effect did Mr. Simmons academic issues have on the team? That was a ton of distraction, wasn't it? When did that come out? It was when LSU was still one game out of the SEC lead with 5 games to go.

lol point guard in the nba. by the way he had just as many turnovers then assist in many games this season

Another excuse? Man you don't ever express your feelings to the media before the team and if you express it to the team you never let it go past that. Why do you think the Spurs are so successful? Do you ever hear about stuff like that from the media? Do you think they've all have great relationships with each other this last decade?
His "academic issues" were such a distraction that he missed 4 minutes of a game. Boy, if I was playing it would definitely cause me to play different too. If a team mate can't make the right grades, it can effect my play on the court. Well I guess that makes sense. Only person that was affecting was Simmons. You're an idiot if you think that an academic issue caused the other players not to play as good.

The fact he could not shoot a jump shot outside of 5 feet is a point that is undeniable. Guy didn't have the offensive Skills to carry SLU much less LSU.

We ruined it for him.
Who is the fuk is we?

and he still continues to love the school no matter what.
Really? how so.

and he doesn't regret anything by choosing LSU.
We need proof of this, unless you are in Ben's circle.
quote:
By the numbers, he is the most efficient 1 and done player to ever live
Also the softest, look at his defense.
quote:
Can someone please explain to me what more he could have done ON THE COURT
Maybe hit a shot further than 5 feet from the basket!

Let's face reality, every player coming out of hs almost always have agreements with agents. It starts when they are about 15 years old in the AAU Circuit, I know first hand.
See above (Simmons Circle)

What you guys don't realize is this kid IS NOT A PROLIFIC SCORER.
This is where it really gets laughable, YES WE KNOW HE IS NOT A PROLIFIC SCORER
quote:
He is not going to take over a game,
No shite, But NBA thinks he #1. OK
quote:
You wanted him to put up 40 a game?
Well he is the best player in college, and nobody can stop him, Just ask him.
quote:
The kid is a natural born facilitator. He makes others better,
TQ, Gray, Patterson, Hornsby was all better last year with out him.
quote:
How does he not get a free pass when you're asking an 18 year old kid to play outside of his game? You let the kid play his game, and you orchestrate an offense around him that works to his strong suits. He will do the rest, it's pretty simple. We didn't have the coaching staff or the selfless supporting cast to do it. The numbers were record breaking. I don't understand how they were silent. HE BROKE RECORDS.
Again alot of Him and He. But "HE'S" not selfish
quote:
By himself.
Ok
quote:
He didn't take the clutch shot because he's not the best offensive player on the floor.
Now you starting to see the perception of LSU fans having to hear how great he is when a 13 YO girls middle school team can shoot better than him.

Wow,
In the end, I'm glad I got to see him play. JJ need to be fired yesterday and is a bad coach, but he was handcuffed with this Simmons project. Wish he was on Kentucky team now.

So you want the guy to take the shots when we need the buckets, but yet you know he isn't the best scorer on the team? That's a contradiction and its the reason LSU fans are extremely ignorant when it comes to actually knowing how this kid plays. I think he will develop a shot in the NBA, but hes very limited offensively..and somehow everyone wants him to shoot more? Yes. Id much rather get a shot from Hornsby in the clutch than Simmons, sorry.
We did ruin it for him. All this non sense man I love LSU and I coach some of the best players in the state of Texas for their age, but I'd be hesitant to lobby for LSU strictly because of this. It's pretty pathetic the expectations you have of this kid. Not really just you, everyone in the country. The ones that are blaming the coach should be. 99% of 18 year olds that play athletics are not going to step in and be a leader unless they are held accountable to. Johnny Jones wasn't even a leader himself and there was no standard or discipline with that team, no one boxed out, help defense was terrible, the offense was lax...I can go on, but at his age assuming that he is not vocal, it is the coaches job to put that pressure on him and show an example which he did not do. The way this team played this year is a direct example of Johnny Jones as a coach, not Ben Simmons as a player.

I would say the way this years team played reflects bringing in a premadonna who could not give a rats arse about winning or the university. No chest at all

Other than that, I don't care what the perception is.
I was cool with him....disappointed about the class thing, then pissed off when they mentioned the agreement.
Just sitting and waiting now to see if there is any fallout.
