The sky is falling because O said he would be more involved in the defense.

I think his comments show that if he doesn't get it fixed the honeymoon will be over very quick
It's his job on the line with the new defensive staff

And you have two coordinators on both sides of the ball who have never called plays at this level

Yeah, some of our fans have catastrophe syndrome or something. They're never content and will find something to bitch about even when times are great. It's just their nature and they are probably like that in every aspect of their lives. There's no changing them.

The sky isn't falling, but it definitely helps people understand why a premier program with elite talent that is usually willing to pay couldn't get its top 2 choices.

Whole lotta downvotes with no one trying to make a case against it

Well when he got the job he said he’d let his coaches coach and being to involved is what caused his ole miss disaster

It is alarming because he has said repeatedly and publicly that his biggest "lesson learned" from his time at Ole Miss was that he should not micromanage. He also sold himself for this job as the CEO who would recruit and stay out of his coodinators' way.

He took over defensive play-calling at Ole Miss and it was an epic disaster.

He also said he told all of the DCs he interviewed that he would be more involved, so I think it's fair to speculate that gave Freeman pause about coming here.

It just isn't what most people wanted to hear.

sigh, we went 5-5 last year with an historically bad defense, swung and missed on top 2 DC candidates, had our best recruit transfer out, and had our other 5* thinking about leaving.

Things aren't really going great at the moment. Not saying we can't bounce back in a huge way in 2021, I'm hopeful we can, but it isn't like we are on top of college football right now. Recruiting, outside of OL, was really solid for 2021 though so that is cause for great optimism.

According to the Rant this week -
O should share more info on Brennan’s medical history, but less info on how he’ll manage the defense.

No wonder they pay him so much.

You do realize these "people" are taking the exact words O has spoken, and holding him to that, and nothing more.

He said anyone who has a problem with it can meet him on the Red Bull aisle at Rouses on Bluebonnet.

Can you wait to see the product before claiming it’s a disaster. At this point you play the hand that’s dealt. These negative idiots don’t know what kind of team we will field this year.

The real question is, if they are successful on defense, will the same tards melting give him credit/props? I bet no.

Well your assessment of what happened is wrong on Nielsen for sure. Freeman, maybe that played a factor, we don't know for sure. However, Nielsen was not on LSU that was all Saints. So trying to say O ran them off by being involved is speculation at best on Freeman and flat out wrong with Nielsen by every media/insiders account of the situation.

ETA: I'm not saying O getting involved is a good thing. I'm just telling you why you're getting downvoted

I was arguing with people about the direction of the program before the 2019 season and I think you were one of them.

he's a DL expert, why wouldn't he be. All HCs chip in on one side of the ball. Do you morons think Saban doesn't coach up the DBs at Bama
