The SEC might need to tread lightly.

It boils down to what “eligible” is and we still never defined what “is” is. What if a college football player left college thinking his “eligibility” is up and went and got his real estate license and started selling houses? Or his insurance license and started selling insurance? Or what if he, like so many, wind up selling shoes at the Footlocker? They are working in a professional environment as in a “job”. What’s the difference between that and trying to get on an NFL team? These fellas haven’t even made the damn team! Seems like the SEC is singling out and limiting eligibility prohibitions to the NFL (or arena leagues, CFL etc..) basically football. I don’t know but that smells discriminatory and prejudicial against certain individual’s rights. I don’t know.
Maybe the SEC ought to tread lightly because if they start violating these folks rights, they might open up a log jam of lawsuits. And threatening LSU? Bruh, we ARE the damn SEC as in a charter frickin member. I hope this ridiculousness gets resolved before the SEC kills their own golden goose - themselves.

Somebody is going to have to dare sankey to put his money where his mouth is. Right now he’s just making threats, hoping that deters the actions he doesn’t like but can’t prevent.
I hope we call his bluff. Because he’ll either have to admit his threats were toothless or explain to the courts why he is able to overrule their rulings.

It probably says pro "football". Not just pro or professional environment.
It does not indicate the NFL at all I believe. There are other pro leagues they would conceivably enter and not be able to return to college athletics.

These stupid SEC fricks, Sankey the most amoung them, could have said "oops we forgot the 2022 guys, ya, they're good under the new 5/5" and there would be no shite-storm.

At this moment LSU is following the law and the SEC is not.

The argument will be that the NCAA / SEC is discriminately impeding these select number of kids from being able to earn…. Which to be fair, is absolutely true.
I hate LSU is the center of the controversy and would rather let it go than keep this going…… but the ncaa can’t look-away from some cases and let them stay (Chambliss, etc) and then threaten conference expulsion bc a minor group of kids fall into a grey zone of having no choice but to leave and weren’t drafted and are in the 2022 class.
So i hope the NCAA/ SEC get duct tape over the mouth, hogtied and thrown in the back of a pickup on the way to opening weekend. Just hate lsu is the one catching all the negative press

Sankey is trying to win public perception and use it to put pressure on schools not to take the “nfl” players knowing good and damn well he will lose in court. His incompetence knows no bounds.
