Do whatever it takes to lure Billy Donovan back to the college game. It is time to go big. As big as it takes to make this program a national power again on a consistent basis.

Why would you want to wait deep into April in a coaching search just to potentially strike out?

No. We should start with Greg Popovich. Need to dream bigger.

He is running a successful NBA team that he left a good well paid job at Florida for.

He isn't Nick Saban.

This is the kind of thinking that results in getting that mid major coach who looks good in his three piece suit and four years later you are hiring another one.

It does not hurt to make the effort. Who knows? Maybe like Saban he realizes he is happier as a college coach.

He's 2 years into a 5 year / $30 million deal with the Thunder. He isn't walking away from that type of money to come takeover a dumpster fire for half the annual salary he makes in the NBA

Be realistic.

Phil Jackson is a better target...Knicks are in the tank worse than LSU.

What about Popovich? Maybe we can lure Pat Riley or Phil Jackson back to the bench. Rudy Tomjanovich isn't doing anything

How do you know its all about money for Donovan. If it is pay what it takes. Do you realize how easily that is covered with 12,000 to 13,000 fans in the PMAC.

Nope, its not about getting an NBA coach. It is this coach. The one with a great college coaching resume. The one who just might be tired of the NBA prima donnas. The one who may have realized he and his family are happier in a college setting.

Why not Calipari or Izzo? They are actually college coaches still. Maybe Coach K?

When Billy took the job he had Westbrook AND Durant. The Thunder were a perennial championship contender with two of the 10 best players in the league on their team. Now they are tied for the 6/7 seed in the West (with Westbrook having a MVP year) and likely looking at a first round exit.

I'm not saying Donovan would even consider the LSU job or coming back to college. But the metrics have changed. The OKC job is the same job as it was when he took it.

Smart AD's are going to at least test the waters.

Our resident bozo, the same dipshit who hired a career West Coast guy who couldn't recruit the region for shite, is going to tell the fanbase that "fit" isn't important.
