Will be Scott Woodward’s first real test. I would have to assume he will confide heavily with Skip Bertman. LSU Baseball is now at the “Smoke” level of rock bottom. The question is should Paul announce this is his last season so a search committee can be started ASAP to get a jump on vetting who’s out there and their interest level. There’s no reason to expect this season can be salvaged at this stage and
LSU has to show class in handling his exit from the program.

Skip has checked out almost as much as Paul at this point. This is squarely on Woody

I do not trust that A. Paul will be fired. B. If Paul is fired, he will make the right coaching hire. I have not been very impressed by him since he has taken over the program. The fact that Fargas (womans basketball I know) is still employed by the University is perplexing

Covid bought everyone a year. The title 9, bought her a guarantee to finish her contract. Due to demographics alone, canning her would look bad.

I hope they don't give Paul the same respect and let to his time run out. I believe he deserves to "go out" on his own terms, but i hope that is soon we rather than later.

LSU has no cash for a buy out....so unless PM voluntarily retires it ain't happening this year under any circumstances

Yeah, good idea. Just pick guys that he still keeps in contact with. They’ll give up their money to buy him out for sure.

My point is that might be the only way to raise the money I seriously don’t think you are getting 3 million in buyout money to replace him LSU is stuck for a least 2 more unless he takes a payoff to go home

Unless Mainieri announces he is retiring, nothing is going to happen in april, or during the season. The candidates that will be available in april/ would still be candidates in june/july

Past teams were known for things starting to come together later in conference play and the postseason tournaments. If that doesn’t happen this year then maybe he will retire.

The talent is there and I think it can come together later in the season but the conference is to good and they are getting buried early. A late run may be just that too late

^ it’s more likely we go 0-6 vs the state of Tennessee today.

There’s no statistical way a team with all this talent who is capable of leading the country in home runs to get our shite kicked in the league like this I’m done with him

So you want the guys who love him more than any other coach in their lives to donate money for his buyout? That’s one of the dumbest ideas I’ve ever seen posted here.

I hope he retires. I been bagging on him since he got here but he has been a great coach. Time to hang it up.
