You completely missed my point, I'm talking specifically more complex then paper. Auburn Florida Alabama and Texas anm now, all play us harder than they do anyone else. Auburn is close no matter how bad they are, same with florida, and Bama shouldn't beat us so bad but they always do their best. And we all know we're anms superbowl.

I got your point, I just think you are looking at it from a biased opinion. Alabama is every teams super bowl game week after week and all the big boys in the SEC get everyone’s best shot. The schools you specifically mentioned can say say the exact same thing .

we define “rivalries” far differently. No team has 6 “rivals.”

Rivalry: Competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field.

If you perceive it cannot apply to multiple teams, you are creating your own definition of the term rivalry. As for the rest of us, we know it applies where it applies, and so be it if in multiple instances

The Ole Miss rivalry is definitely one way. To
them we are their biggest rival, even above Moo St to most of their fans, but hardly any LSU fan considers them a rival at all.

I definitely agree about the long standing historic rivalries and that we really don't have one. I think we've played state the most out of the current sec?

Either way, to pretend the sec schools aren't our rivals is fricking ridiculous. Per the definition, every sec west team and UF are our rivals. We go head to head on the field and in recruiting. We all aim to achieve the same goal, to win the sec.

Rivalry does not mean equal success. When Ole Miss has beaten LSU, has it made you want to hurl for days? I know that seeing those powder blue fricks win just one in 5 tries is sickening on steroids to me. Some of my most disgusting memories in Tiger Stadium (and my living room) has been when the Black Bear Shark Rebels celebrated a win over my beloved Tigers. I guarantee it meets the rivalry mark for any staunch Tiger fan north of 40 years old, and certainly for those over 60 from the old days.

sure it can apply to multiple teams, but usually not more than 2, 3 at most.

For example, Georgia’s rivals are Florida, Ga Tech, and Auburn. Bama’s are Auburn, Tennessee, and I’d say LSU.

Nobody has 6 “rivals”. They may have 6 really tough games against the same teams every year, but that doesn’t make them a rival.

A&M reminds me of that dude that tries to run up and sneak you while you are engaged with another enemy. (Bama)

Sure, sometimes they will connect, but mostly they are an annoyance.

The aggots are not and never will be our rival. They belong to UT.

If you don’t want Tulane back on the schedule permanently, you don’t get to whine about rivalry stuff.

Passing that into law will be priority #1 when you elect me as your governor.

I think it's healthy as hell to pursue OOC games like Texas.

We beat them, no rhetoric from Jimbo or Herman can overcome that.

If you ever want to hear someone curse like no other opponent ever just watch an LSU vs. Arkansas game with a 65+ year old hog fan. At some point in the game holler out "Little Joe Labruzo" The Hog fan will completely come unglued with a string of expletives to make anyone cringe, or in my case laugh their asses off

I mean this is great and all...except wouldn't every SEC West team be able to claim the exact same thing? Therefore, LSU cannot be "tops" in CFB.

I know what you're trying to say, and I agree. Perhaps a better way of saying it is as follows:

"In comparison to other teams and especially in the past two decades, LSU would be considered the biggest "marquee" win for an SEC team outside of Bama. As such, it carries with it a sense of "rivalry" to that team, and they tend to "circle" it on their schedule versus what LSU does (circle Bama only)."

If we're honest about it, the total domination of the SEC by Bama has changed that over the past 3-4 years for LSU fans. We admittedly have much less confidence in our ability to beat them; thus, we look for another potential "big win" to motivate our team to continue to play for something meaningful and be excited about. That has mainly turned into a bigger focus on Florida (for reasons not only to do with on-field history), and secondarily to Auburn (always a tough rival)- then, maybe throw in aTm (potential rising program and recruiting rival in East Texas), and Ole Miss (simply because it's Ole Piss, and losing to their declining program would be totally insufferable). The latter two programs I would consider "beat 'em just to shut them up!" than a real rival nowadays.
