From first page of Google search, post on UGA board from right before Last year's SEC CG...
"John McDaid. Fairly new to SEC, but very experienced referee who has worked in the ACC and Big East. Was referee in the Alabama/Texas Natty game. Very good official. Crew is a mixed bag from multiple different crews."

Lawdd...don't believe whatsoever the OP was going there. Just pointing out McDaid's background. Just found it odd that he was involved as a referee in such a pivotal game in the Tide's history form this Millennium. UTa folks are still hot when thinking about the officiating from that game.

It’s nice to know the name of the ref responsible. Doesn’t mean you want to send death threats.
They should be held accountable though, especially if a trend continues. It’s good to get the name out for public perception.
It was an awful call, but it’s more awful that the review held it up. Is Ritter really the review guy? I’m upset at both tbh. Death threats are stupid though. Stating their publicly is not.

That is why these plays are reviewed. The review is where the screwjob took place. My understanding is the review was by Al Ford. Ford has been involved in several past controversies. Add this to the list
Appears he just moved to a very modest home near Huntsville though. So if he's on the take, he's hiding it well. Maybe just a Bama homer doing the deed for free? An incompetent buffoon? Crooked? Regardless, the review was horrible. The SEC has time to make it right.
I will say, in terms of the game official, the business of forcing NF to sit out a play was really odd.

So you think giving out a referees name in hopes of threats will really get anything done? You have to be fricking stupid to actually believe that.
The call has been made, and the only hope of it being overturned rests with the SEC. Threatening a referee will accomplish nothing and make our fans look like thugs. Grow the frick up.

Nobody is making death threats nor advocating that. However, it is good to know the name of the official and if he has been involved in any poor calls or controversies before, as well as if these controversies always seemed to favor AL.
