100% agree. Skyline is nothing more than glorified spaghetti sauce.

But until Burrow publicly details his reasons, the answer why he passed on Cincinnati is on his Twitter account.
He abhors Skyline Chili, a Cincinnati culinary institution since 1949.
On May 3, 2017, he tweeted "Hot Take: Skyline is Trash!"
Then about three months ago, he tweeted "Just a reminder that Skyline is terrible - That is all."

True, but it’s still not good. Never was impressed with Skyline

I remember landing in Cincinnati once. Captain said, "Welcome to Cincinnati, Ohio. Please set your clock back 50 years."

Wrong. You landed in Shreveport.

Skyline chili is most assuredly trash. Yes, it's basically nasty Bolognese.

Skyline Chili is definitely bad.
I have eaten it twice and never again

Twice? You're a slow learner.

Steak and Shake does it better

He is right on target about skyline chili. Just godawful.

I concede that Cincinnati food is nowhere near what Baton Rouge food is. But BR food is simply the best in so many ways I have ever had. Cincinnati chili is a unique concoction but I like it on occasion and Skyline does a decent job. I lived in Cincinnati 25 years ago and the first meal my then new wife and I had together in Cincinnati was at a Skyline on Reed Hartman Hwy in Blue Ash. So, there will always be a nostalgic, sentimental feeling I have for the place. It's ok, it's not wretched but it is no where near the food in BR. But neither is any other place in the Midwest. Literally half the people I've met in the Midwest over the past 25 years hate seafood. I hate what they think seafood is, too.

I enjoyed Skyline when I’ve had it. But I knew going in it wasn’t chili. Nor was it spaghetti sauce. It’s sometjing that falls between the two somewhere. It’s not as good as our food, but I don’t think it’s terrible.

Skyline is probably mediocre, for sure, BUT, there is NO WAY that it is worse then The Varsity in Atlanta. I'd eat at any fast food chain before the Varsity.

I'm with you. Have no idea why people like this place. Never knew it was possible to make dry chili but they found out how

Well Skyline or Billys boudin balls?

You created a post around something Ron Higgins wrote. Remember that.

I worked in Cincinnati a bit about 20 or so years ago. They definitely take pride in their chili, but I thought it was underwhelming.
Safest thing to get in that general area is probably the steak. It's close enough to the big steak areas that they do a pretty good job. Or maybe something like ribs.
