Miles will bring what he brings best.
Integrity and leadership to a program that will have the university proud to call him their own. Les has his issues in offensive philosophy but is unwavering in his ability to lead young men!
Good luck and God speed Coach Miles.

I see that line of thinking much more out of the ones who think O is the same guy he was at ole miss tbt.

He already gave Matt Canada a watered down version of the Noel Mazzone treatment after Year 1 of his tenure, and has provided us with an even worse OC.

To win in B12 you must score points. Lots of points. Les believes in 1970s B10 offenses, 3 yards and cloud of dust. I just don’t see it for Les to have a good offense.

And he won’t have defenses filled with elite talent and multiple Thorpe and Bednarik Award winners like at LSU. He will have to beat teams while having inferior talent, solely based on his ability to outcoach opposing coaches with Xs and Os.

And he won’t have millions to spend on his coordinators like at LSU. And the best and brightest coaches aren’t going to Kansas. Aranda leaves Wisconsin for LSU, not Kansas. Moreover, Les’ track record in hiring is spotty at best. Yes, he hired Aranda. But he also hired Crowton, Stud, Kragthorpe, Cameron, Malveto.

Kansas is dry for talent, not like the fertile recruiting grounds of Louisiana and Texas. And his evaluations will have to be perfect with little margin for error. He can’t do at Kansas what he did at LSU in 2006: sign 6 OL, none of whom ever played a down for LSU. A couple years later and our OL is crap. Les still gets by with 7-5 because of the overall sheer talent. Do that at Kansas and he’s 3-9.

Good luck.

Mangino had them ranked #1 and took them to the Orange Bowl.

No he didn't, the highest he had them ranked was #2 and they finished 7, that was the only year I believe he finished ranked as well

No, but he might be able to shut em down, and keep the ball from them.

You think his Kansas defenses will have Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, and Morris Claiborne in the secondary all at the same time like at LSU? And two 1st NFL 1st Rounders on the line like Brockers and Mingo?

Damn, LSU must have had one hell of a coach to recruit players like that.

I make fun of Les a lot, but there have been circumstances where he allowed more flexibility in the offense that his teams ran:

1. When he first arrived at LSU, he didn’t hold Jimbo back that I remember.

2. In 2013 we had a mixture of an inexperienced D that couldn’t hold opponent scoring down, and a relatively experienced offense led by a transfer QB that for some reason Les seemed to trust more. Pretty good offense.

So I won’t be surprised if he’s more open on offense initially.

-However- Okie State fans had the same observations about his tendencies that we saw here. Eventually, Les is Les.

He looks like a coach who don’t lose more than 2 sec games a year to me ... through two + seasons.

You’re right.

He led them to #2 ranking and Orange Bowl.

bullshite OSU fans love les.
He took over a program coming off sanctions that had 1 winning season in 12 years and immediately made them respectable and had them winning 9 games. Their recruiting jumped significantly under Miles too.

Why do people need to makes shite up about Miles when he has enough legit flaws/baggage.

They have won more than 3 games ZERO times since 2009.

The osu fans I know are all lukewarm towards Les. They were suprised when LSU wanted him. Had some clock management/stubborn issues there too. They like Gundy better.
