The Rant is bad at hiring coordinators, lets face it.

Crowton was the wizard, bust
Cameron was an offensive genius, bust
Canada...was.....well never mind.
Ensminger was a garbage hire.......here we are.
Chavis was a God......then we third and Chavised
Steele was a joke, until he wasn't.
Aranda was a professor.....the rant wanted him fired since last year most of the time.
Lets just face it, we suck at picking coordinators, the one guy that 'saved' our offense was an absolute unknown to most of our posters.
Not many of our fans can identify basic football alignments. Lets just sit back and wait on who is hired and then get on with hating them then. It is just easier that way.

Chavis was a good coach here - he inherited and cleaned up an utter mess on defense. People weren't over the moon about his hiring, either.

Well, Ensminger as the SOLE OC scored exactly ZERO points vs. Alabama in two tries...one of those included having Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Marshal, CEH on the roster. He wasn't a great hire UNTIL he got paired with Brady.

Chavis completely turned the defense around in 2009. Even in down years talent-wise (notably 2013 and 2014) the defense improved during the year. While I'm not saying Chavis should be in any HOF's, who knows what the program would have looked like if his defenses didn't keep LSU afloat while Les preferred to do virtually nothing with the offense?

But we generally do it in the wrong order....we love the bad ones then hate them. We hate the good ones, then love them.

Our defenses under Chavis 2010, 2011, and 2012 were absurdly good - especially in 2011.
