I was visiting friends Minneapolis a couple of weekends ago. Wore an LSU hat out to the bars. So many Minnesota kids came up to me saying they like LSU because of Barstool Sports and Ed O’s presence on their Pardon My Take podcast.

It kind of ticked me off at first, then I thought it’s pretty cool to see LSU become a national brand.

If you think Ed Orgeron made LSU a national brand I really don't know what to tell you.

You don’t have to tell me anything.

Ed O has gone on large radio shows/podcasts that college students and young adults listen to and brought on a new audience due to the popularity of the medium.

Oh Jesus. Let’s be honest. You’re not really capable of thinking.

there is such a thing as reasonable criticism but where these guys go with it is just overboard and very unreasonable. I think that is why posters like Ben go off on these frick tards

This is correct. The other poster obviously can't tell the difference between criticism of the coaches concerning a specific issue and breaking that particular issue down and discussing ways for that coach to improve, and making up scenarios to attack that coach on a personal level. I have no problem with the former and I absolutely see red when faced with the latter.

There are posters that have posted in this thread that make up asinine shite about the coaches on a regular basis. One, in particular, makes it sound like coach O has no other duties as head coach but recruiting. It's not even close to being true and it's just another despicable shot at the coach. Later on he'll claim that he wasn't actually attacking the man.

Yes I call posters out that make up shite about the coaches. The negas here are so shitty that before a person posts anything that could possibly be considered positive about the coaches that person has to post a disclaimer in the hopes that they aren't attacked and called an O sycophant or worse.

I don't agree with the "every single outlet" but definitely think it's hit tRant and wouldn't surprise me if they have fake social media accounts as well. I think it's smart especially considering the backlash when Coach O was hired. It doesn't bother me either way honestly, certainly not enough to suggest what you're suggesting.

this being widely thought of as being true is one of the saddest things ive read on this board in 15 years.

not much different than miles honestly. Shitty offense, Good defense and special teams win 9 games.

People don't want to hear this after signing day but it's true. Obviously the people predicting he would horribly crash and burn (not me) were wrong. I like many others saw hiring O as a mere continuation and maybe slight step back from where we were the last couple years under Les. So far I'm not exactly wrong. Maybe Ensminger will shock me and the offense next year will make huge leaps forward. If not I just dont see us getting over this 9-3, 10-2 hump considering the strides our opponents are making in coaching and recruiting. When it might really get interesting is when/if O has to replace Aranda. In any event, kudos to O and staff for reeling in a mighty fine recruiting class this cycle. I hope we can finish even stronger in February.

If people are to believe that recruits read the board and that what fans say here has an impact on the vibe around our program, then it seems like it would be smart to have folks watching these forums doesn't it?

Any reasonably intelligent leader would be interested in controlling as much as he/she can about such things including public perception.

Having said that, do I think Eaux is that smart? No I don't. I agree it's laughable to think he's that sophisticated.

Anyone that doesn't immediately attack coach O is called a sycophant and accused of working for the propaganda machine.

That's why I get so frustrated when you take their side so often.

We just have a different definition of what bashing, hating and personal attacks are. I'm on LSU's side. I really don't give a rip about Orgeron to be honest. I would like him to be successful because he's LSU's head coach and because I've overcome some of the same things in my personal life that he has. But, if he does fail, I will be bummed for LSU and don't care about him.

You also don’t bring up his undefeated national championship season I notice. You’re willing to ignore 8 successful seasons a natty and a playoff berth

In a weak arse conference. When Clemson challenged, he didn't look as great. He left FSU in a mess.
No one is saying Jimbo can't coach or recruit and he would have done well at LSU but Jindal, Alexander et al screwed the pooch. Not sure he was worth the asking price either.

All the new accounts on here since the end of 2016, over 90% being complete sunshine pumpers, doesn't give it away at all. You're on here enough to know what an alter is. It's been record numbers since O was hired. Again, a smart strategy and I seriously doubt LSU is the only school doing those types of things.

This is pure speculation. Many new accounts may be younger Tiger fans who view things through P&G glasses. Besides it still a relatively small percentage of posters. Orgeron gets plenty of fair criticism.

If you're ok with people making up shite about coach O and his staff then posting it here as fact then I guess we do, in fact, have a differing view of what bashing, hating and personal attacks are.

I'm on LSU'S side as well.

I can't say that I don't give a shite about O because I've always liked Les so I'm excited about the Kansas job for him. I'm sure that I'll feel the same way about O.

You may be right, Ben. I think it's all in the individual experience. I've been accused of ripping and/or hating Coach O for saying nothing at all that it's possible that I tend to see some of the "hate and bashing" as common criticism or concern.
