so let’s not have a bunch of empty seats behind home plate this weekend. It looks very lame on TV and hurts the LSU baseball brand. If any of you rich folks have no intention of going to the games this weekend please give them to fans who actually want to go to the game.

First game is on a Saturday I would expect the game to be packed. Now if there is a weather delay that last 3 hours its kind of hard to expect every single fan to either stay or comeback.

If there are no weather delays then Saturday and Sunday will be completely packed both games.

Problem with LSU baseball is the fan base built by Bertman who gobbled up all the season tickets are aging.

It's a crime they are not repurposing those tickets so the average fan or younger fan can attend more games.

And if those fans behind home plate don't want to show up they definitely need to do something about it.

Should there be an age limit on ticket purchase?
What do you suggest?
What about an "attendance count" on renewals? If you miss a certain percentage of games, you aren't allowed to renew?
And to further please the sit-at-home types that bitch about everything, what about some sort of noise meter attached to the seats? If you don't cheer loud or long enough, the game mashalls come and take you away.

What more should LSU do to enhance your viewing experience?

You want to control what people in those seats do? Pay more than them for those tickets.

It's just that simple.

Let us poors go back to filling in the Gold Seats after the 4th inning.
That's what the frick LSU can do. It's a bullshite new policy this season. Started with SEC play.

We've done this many games every season at the new Box.
Until this year.

A crime?? Seriously?

How many of those "average" or "younger" fans are willing to pay $5,400 a season for a pair of season tickets in the purple seats behind homeplate?

Or, pay $4,400 for a pair of season tickets in the purple seats behind the dugouts?

Besides, didn't you post a couple a weeks ago that you were "tired" of this team? You said you were moving on to the Rougarou Summer League as I recall. LINK

Maybe it's best if you don't bother getting season tickets if you give up on the team before the post-season even starts...

you don't know how these things work do you? it's OK but the people that pump money into the program are not going to be "taken away" for not cheering loud enough.

your post is very entertaining.

"Pay more than them....? Those tickets seldom if ever come up for purchase. They are like those 50 yard line seats in TS, they are just passed on to family. What pisses me off is they, apparently, don't care enough, or are too lazy, to sell them game by game when they know they aren't going.

Brian Broussard, LSU AD of Tickets, told me about 6 or 7 years ago that a "few" of the purple seats become available most seasons.

The next hurdle is having the required number of TAF Lifetime Priority Points to qualify for clearing the purple seats wait list.

Based on what Broussard told me back then I estimate to qualify now to clear the wait list a potential purple seat season ticket buyer would have to have about 350+/- TAF Lifetime Priority Points, but that's just a guess on my part.

I have just under half that number so I've accepted I'll probably never have enough TAF points for the purple seats, unless the baseball team experiences multi-year losing seasons. And I don't want THAT to happen.

But if you have that amount of TAF points, go for it!!

The ushers should activly push the SRO folks into grandstand seats after the third inning.

Having said that, if the games go off at their scheduled times with no delays, there isn't going to be many empty seats this weekend.

Lsu should raise the prices on their grandstand seats, and a good bit of them would come free. Those seats are relatively cheap, and many people hold on to them because they don't want to give them up. Some of that would stop if they were double or triple the price.

There's a family that has 6 seats near us and I've seen all of those 6 tickets used maybe 5x since 2009.

You guys need to get a grip about how it “looks” on tv. The people that bitch the most are the ones that rarely go to games and complain about the crowds. Considering the weather delays and a weekday that the regional was played, the attendance that showed up was pretty good.

Yep. For the guy saying “pay more for the seats than they do.”…..that’s not how it works. As long as those people want their seats, nobody else gets a shot at them. They certainly have the right to go or not and go and sit on their hands for 4 innings before leaving to beat traffic but they aren’t helping the program and it doesn’t help the Atmosphere
