I think you're being a little too tough man. yeah, we have some terrible and whiny fans (football on the rant is enough proof) but over the decades I have met many, many great fans of LSU. and think about it, how many sports can one support?
i'm not even going to ask you where you were 4 years ago; nor how many track meets you attend, etc, etc.
yes, people will take the time to go and see a winner. true anywhere.

Lived in Houston. I go to the track meets at Langham Creek. I became a big fan of track events in high school and still attend every one I can make.
I have never been a fan of gymnastics and won't pretend to be. Unlike the 5,000+ fans who attend the meets now who weren't there in 2014.
If you like and enjoy pretend fans it's cool. I call them bandwagon fans and don't enjoy the butt-hats. That's just me though. Hell, people here think I went to Langham Creek HS. I had never heard of it until I moved here.
I may be a bandwagon fan not having any connection to the school and just me and the parents and a few others showing up to watch. I'm really not sure.

And you could just be an arse... you definitely are an arse. By the way, LSU wasn't winning football championships when Death Valley earned it's reputation. Oh, and frick South Carolina too.

They also didn't double their attendance in a few years. According to a poster on the previous page the gymnastics team has. They have also had two top 10 finishes lately. DOUBLED THEIR ATTENDANCE !!!
But, I am sorry, what I think is a "bandwagon fan" may not mesh with what others would consider the term to mean. My bad.

Tiger Ree is just jealous because he knows O will never be able to attract the "bandwagon" fans like championship programs do.

Jesus Christ dude. What is your problem? Would you rather no one go? I'm so confused by whatever your angle is here

Haters are entertaining if nothing else. There was another idiot in the LB from Tory Carter's HS thread this morning melting about the OC situation at LSU.
Here you are in a gymnastics thread doing the same thing. You guys can melt anywhere at anytime. Keep on melting brother. I love you and your melts.

Thanks for your interest and concern, Derek.
We do not have Gymnastics, and I'll bet you didn't know (even though you probably should as minister of propaganda) 6 SEC schools do not either.
Since your concern is with doubling attendance, why don't you work on a way to double 2nd half attendance at LSU football games?

Tigerbait is surprised that fans support winners?
Been that way since the beginning of time.

Not everyone who was there last night are bandwagoners. Thanks to the SEC Network, the meets are aired on TV. People are exposed to fun and excitement of the sport. This then draws those fans to see it live.
I have been going to the meets since 2004. I am speaking as a non-bandwagoner. DD has had a ton of top performers on the team in the last 15 years. It’s only in the last few years that the depth of the squad has been able to compete for the top 3 nationally.

Nope don't upvote or downvote. If you want me to do either let me know and watch the numbers change.

And last night in 2018 they had 10,755 fans attend. Is Louisiana's population increasing that much?
No, the increase is ONLY because they are NOW WINNING.
What if 10,000 people showed up when they weren't winning. Would it have helped recruiting? Would the recruiting have made the team better?
Now that LSU is doing good the fans who didn't go to the meets before all of a sudden go to be on ESPN3 to show off their super-fandom.
In my opinion if they were super-fans they would have been there showing support before the back-to-back top 2 finishes.
It is just my opinion though and I could be wrong.
in this case you are wrong. If they weren't "winning" as you say, but somehow have been in the top 10 in attendance regardless, shows there has been strong support for the program for quite some time.
College gymnastics, much like softball, is a sport thats growing in popularity. Much of it has to do with the work that is being done at the grass roots levels and growing the age group programs. That coincides a lot with the marketing and outreach the gymnastics program does on it's own. They've worked incredibly hard to grow it.
I have been to meets since the early 2000's. Some of the growth is attributed to people becoming more familiar with the program and giving it a chance. It's a great family environment and a lot of fun. Much better than spending $50 at a movie theater IMO.
Lots of factors in the growth and it's NOT JUST because they are winning. In fact, I'd dare say that you have it in reverse. I think people were there supporting the program before they were winning. Then, you get a couple of big time recruits, new facilities .... and boom.
Not sure why you are being a dick about this.

Again, you are a wrong. The growth is attributed to many factors... that are obviously outside your ability to comprehend.
They are averaging a ridiculous amount of fans and it just continues to grow. They must be converting a lot of people to being "fans", right?
And you are trying to argue about something even though you have admitted to not being a fan of it, not ever attending, and not having any real knowledge of?
