Amazing he hasn’t been banned. Yet when you bring up McMahon’s pathetic record, the thread gets whacked.

Night in and night out, this team during the McMahon era can’t compete in the SEC. Statistically speaking, they aren’t close. And you want to blame injuries?

Championship programs don’t make that bullshite excuse.

I am not comparing them to the championship teams. However, this season and last season after the first four or five teams you could essentially throw a blanket over the rest of the league. These two teams would have been competitive with those teams without those season ending injuries to their best players and had a reasonable chance to make the NCAA tournament. They finished in the top half of the league two years ago so its very possible the same could have occurred last season and this season.

What seed were they in the SECT?

Can’t spill the source so the validity would be questioned. Thats why I’ll wait until something leaks about it.

You can’t expect anything else at this point. I trust you’re not 10 years old anymore. Grow up. Cheer on the team but stop going into a blind rage when we point out the obvious: the program is as bad as it’s ever been and needs a full overhaul. Not saying MM’s a bad guy but he’s been a horrible coach for this program and that’s not debatable. Chill the frick out, superfan.

LSU finished tied with A&M in the standings, which I guess technically put them at 7th...which would be dead in the middle of a (then 14 team league. However, once tie-breakers were factored in, LSU was the 8th seed in the SECT...which would put them in the bottom half of the league.

Regardless, even that SEC record didn't have LSU in consideration for the NCAA Tournament. Mississippi State, who finished behind LSU in the standings, made the NCAAT as an 8 seed. In fact, Ole Miss, who finished two games behind LSU in the SEC was AHEAD of LSU in the postseason pecking order. Ole Miss declining the NIT bid was what opened the door for LSU to get it. MM's greatest "success" was the equivalent of a participation trophy because the NIT was FORCED (by its rules) to take two SEC teams.

As usual, factually incorrect and making shite up. You’ve broken completely from reality over the worst coach in program history. Congrats on simping for absolute failure.

Disagree. Even healthy, this team wouldn’t be in that 8-5 logjam with Texas, A&M, Vandy, etc. I think there’s a bit of homerism when discussing our injured “stars”. Honestly, doesn’t really matter who the coach is when our talent is so down.

the stupid clap they do at free throws
This is getting really nitpicky. At least those diehard student basketball fans who wear the silly costumes (cape, WWF belt, crown, etc) attend the games and pay attention. I think it's kind of nice to have students who try and get the other students involved instead of just playing on their phones.

I get the general gist of your OP, but we can't get rid of whatever traditions we have just because we currently stink.

Hey Tigersbb history lesson for you since your history in basketball seems to start and end with Mcloser. During the 78-79 season preseason all american (which neither Thomas or Ward were remotely close to being) Durand Macklin broke his foot during the 2nd game and missed the entire season. Instead of having his boyfriend go out and simp and make excuses for him Dale Brown won the SEC and made the sweet sixteen of the NCAA tournament. Think about that little man!

That’s kind of my point. He nitpicked at my use of “championship teams”, but the bottom line is that injuries happen. Every team in the country deals with them. Sure, they will cost you, especially if you are trying to get to the Final 4, but to use it as an excuse for being near the bottom of a 16 team conference…?

That shows you how far they have to stretch the truth to make any type of case.

T-7th in a 14 team (at the time) league and tie-breakers had LSU 8th seed in SECT out of, again, 14 teams, yet we finished top half of the league and easily was going to do it again last year and this year.

Delusional.
