There was never a doubt who the better team was. And it really wasn't that close. If they played ten times Oregon probably wouldn't win any.

I actually agree with this. Not with the turnover and inexperience Oregon came in with for this game.

However, it is too hard not to fap for this upcoming season. I predicted Oregon would lose in the Cowboy Classic.

I am really interested to see if that LSU passing attack is much improved.

You got dominated. Get over it.

You and every single team LSU played last year got skullfricked except Alabama.

We could make excuses all day about our inexperience guys who came into that game too. But we're not because they dominated. See how that works?

C'mon man, we beat the piss out of y'all. Sure, you had starters out; so did we. Sure it was close through three; sure Oregon's M.O. Is to wear them down and win in the fourth; but LSU didn't wear down; they destroyed Oregon in the fourth.

Thomas, their true freshman, fumbling on basically back to back touches is what did them in.

As dominate as LSUs D was last year, they were outgained 4 different times last year by their opponents. Part of that was the shitty QB play but still...its not like Oregons offense couldn't move the ball. Turnovers did them in...

At the beginning of the 4th quarter, there was a 20 point lead. The game was out of hand mid way through the third quarter. It was never close after Ford scored midway through the third.

Outside of Alabama the ducks were the best team we played last year.

I'm sorry but I don't believe Ford is the best all around back on this team.

and I would actually say Hilliards power is > Michael Ford's outside speed.

I'm really undecided who is the best but I do believe Blue has the best vision.

AFA is JL, while he had a good game, it is obviously if you pay attention that he was going to have to tighten up his throws before he got to the likes of Bama. So many of those completions would have been incomplete or intercepted against a Bama defense, and that's exactly what ended up happening (this is not a JL v. JJ post...just saying what I saw)

JLee didn't have a good game against Oregon.

This game was played a year ago and has ZERO bearing on the upcoming season. Depth is what won many of our games last year and will be a factor again this year.

I love analysis like this
The turnovers were not giveaways, but takeaways (that's actually part of deciding who the better team is and is not excusable) .
As far as being outgained, who cares?
That's directly attributed to LSU having great field position via stellar defense and Oregon running 12 more plays. Their last drive actually gave them the edge if I remember correctly.

LSU was CLEARLY the better team. It was obvious to everyone in attendance. The Oregon fans sat down early in the third and never got up again.
This game wasnt THAT close, but enjoy revisionist history.

Reminds me of the couple of WVU fans that once frequented this board. The first game was NOT close, despite the score and the rematch, well...that kinda proved the point.

Michael Ford is clearly the best RB.

in that game?

maybe.

for the season?

hilliard was better and ware was what we needed him to be.

both pick up blitzes better than ford as well.

Me too. It essentially boils down to "well, if LSU had not scored more points, they would not have won the game."

I would prefer to play y'all in the BCS over USC. I have more respect for the Oregon program. Seem to get your W's the right way, you know, legally.
