Should make players sign a legally binding contract for a 4 year commitment upon signing. Sue the shite out of them if they break it or work it in the contract that if they do leave early LSU gets a part of their first year salary

Stupidest shite I’ve read on here. These kids owe you nothing. Every scholarship is on a year to year basis. College football IS NOT A JOB.

Expanding playoffs will diminish non playoff bowl games even further. So, while you may get players playing in the playoff games (I think for the short term, you would) you'd give even more incentive for players not to play in the non playoff bowl games.

Unless there is a financial solution to playing in that game (paid insurance, etc.) they won't survive. And, the cost of the insurance is likely prohibitive. I think we'll get to a 16 game playoff...and the bowl games die off.

Here's your fix:

There are 10 Division I conferences.

All 10 winners enter the playoff.

There's your bowl season.

End of conversation.

I'm only interested in the LSU football program; could totally care less about any individual LSU football player.

It's making me reading all these comments from the Pump Lumps worshipping their idols. (Hey, when that's all you got, that's all you got)

It's all about the team, not the individual. (Easy to tell on here who's never actually played one second of organized team sports)

I've read a lot of dumb shite here, but this one may take the cake. Good job.

Serious question: are you serious?

That doesn't solve any problem the majority of major college fans care about...and certainly doesn't solve the problem referenced in the OP.

It does solve the "mid major pretending to be a big player but unwilling to play a real schedule yet wanting to be considered for a championship" problem though.

Drop 2 weeks off season. No one cares about the rent-a-wins. anyway.

Go back to old bowl system with invites and conference tie-ins, but start earlier. Now you've replaced rent- a -wins with marquee matchups in a lot of bowls.

AFTER bowls, use BCS formula or a derivative thereof to pick top 4 teams. The original BCS formula was meant to take excess subjectivity out of it, now we are on an entirely subjective system. After bowls, there will be some real interesting info for the computers and pollsters.

Play 4 team playoff.

Now- the bowls count again. Silly games are minimized. Conference championships count and regular season counts as you want that good bowl invite to boost final ranking. And in the end, it gets settled on the field.

For those not playing due to a desire to avoid injury and provide financially for their children, we could kidnip said children and promise to return them only if they play in the bowl game, and play well at that.

Not a single power 5 coach would want.

They don’t work for LSU dumbass. Some of the kids aren’t 18 when the sign LOI. How would you enforce a legal contract on a minor?

The easiest way to prevent players from sitting out is to just sign athletes that would never in a million years be good enough for the NFL.

Of course the problem is with that caliber of players LSU would most likely not get enough wins to be invited to a bowl.

But that's a different problem for you sad little fan boys to worry over isn't it?

Life isn't easy is it?

Better idea... right after the game have a booster funnel money through their agent to them as a 'bonus' for playing. Sign a MOU saying if they play, they get that money within hours of no longer being eligible.

Many of these players will be taking high-interest loans from their agent to train for the combine. Let our boosters save them from that on the back end. It'll be a boon for recruiting on the front end for the next group of guys.

Depends if those players are on one of the 8 playoff teams.

Eventually an NFL developmental league will be started and CFB will be played by kids who graduate

Why?

This is a really stupid idea.

In reality, this in the NCAAs foils for rendering the non playoff bowl games utterly meaningless.

Don’t blame he players for looking after their own financial best interest instead of playing a scrimmage game.
