I find mdomingue to be an eminently reasonable, rational, and intelligent poster. And he was all of those things in his quoted post. And the response to his post hinted at the reason why so many posters dislike Angel Reese

It seems there is a lot of anger directed at Angel Reese because she wants to be a role model to the girls that look like her.

Everyone seems to agree that black girls are less likely to be successful than white girls. You say that it's because "Black culture is broken" and "because black families can’t keep fathers in the household."

Then doesn't it make perfectly good sense for a successful black woman who has not been an unwed mother and who has gone to college to be a role model to girls that look like her?

If you're right about the reason why the average black kid does not have the same chance of success as the average white kid, don't you want Angel Reese to try to fix the broken black culture?

I'm not talking about causes. I didn't talk about causes in any my posts in this thread. I know that many posters want to talk about the causes. I'm just talking about possible solutions.

But if we're going to talk about solutions, don't you agree that it's important for a successful black woman who has not been an unwed mother and who has gone to college to be a role model to girls that look like her?

Don't you agree that Angel Reese should be messaging to the very demographic that so many people find to be particularly at risk regardless of the cause?
