I just saw where the NCAA has suspended Tyrell Pryor and a few other Ohio State players for 5 games next season because the players sold some items and received improper benefits. However, the NCAA is going to allow all of the players to play in the Sugar Bowl. Apparently, the NCAA says the players were not properly educated on the rules.

It seems that the NCAA ruled quickly on this issue, since the first reports of a problem were late last night. It also took immedate action on the Cam Newton issue.

However, in the situation of LSU, if my understanding is correct, the NCAA has suspended Ridley, based on what most say is only circumstantial evidence, and is taking its time on LSU's appeal.

The double standards are appauling. If you are in a BCS bowl, all issues will apparently be dealt with swiftly and with the result that all star players are allowed to play. However, if you are in a lesser bowl, the rules will be vigorously enforced and resolution of issues will be delayed.

The NCAA is becoming a laughing stock for its handling of issues in this manner, and I think it will lead to more calls for regulation of college athletics by an outside source.

The NCAA doesn't frick around, unless you're in a BCS bowl.

They are blatantly inconsistent.

the NCAA also has virtually no financial interest in ANYTHING involving postseason college football

their motives are not at all objective

They can't suspend them from the bowl game, because then no one would watch it.

NCAA = $$$$$$

Not true...Auburn asked for reinstatement and it was granted...Miles should have asked for reinstatement (punishment doesn't fit the crime) instead of appealing. If you appeal, an investigation has to be done. If you admit wrong doing and ask for reinstatement there is no investigation and a ruling can be made in less than one day.

the NCAA is a criminal organization; there needsa to be an investigation into why some teams are granted much more favor that others (SEC)...NCAA should be treated as the Mafia.

I'm just an outsider here, but it looks like you guys are getting a "raw deal" on your Running Back situation compared to the tOSU players and their 2011 suspensions.

It has to be because of The Sugar Bowl and ESPN's need for viewer ratings and ad $$$. The Cotton Bowl is a Fox production, so the NCAA doesn't care. And don't forget about Vegas $$$, either.

Do you really believe the NCAA ruled within hours on the OSU and Auburn? Seriously...

Both schools undoubtedly knew about the cases for weeks, if not months, and worked with the NCAA to resolve them. Timing of the announcements between the schools and the NCAA was coordinated. It sounds like in the case of LSU, the NCAA and LSU have not had a chance to vet all of the details.

Get off your double standard horses. You guys are pitiful.
