Maybe LSU ruled Ridley ineligible, asked the NCAA for reinstatement, they ruled him ineligible, now Miles is appealing.

Maybe Ridley's Dad will come out and say that his son didn't know anything about the cheating....

It seems that the NCAA ruled quickly on this issue, since the first reports of a problem were late last night. It also took immedate action on the Cam Newton issue.

If you think the NCAA only found out about either one of these issues the day before their rulings you are one of the dumbest rantards on here. And that's saying something.

NCAA didn't rule Ridley ineligible in the first place, LSU did. And with Miles clean track record with the fact that he disciplined Ridley himself will only help his chances of being reinstated.

Even better. Pryor will go pro and never serve his punishment.

The Ridley situation hasn't been ruled on by the NCAA yet. They have taken no stance on it. HOWEVER, for the rest of the things going on, the NCAA looks like a complete and utter joke at this point. It seems as though bylaws, regulations, and rules have no superiority or consideration anymore. The NCAA just decides whats best for them ($$$$) and makes some arbitrary ruling. The purpose of the NCAA is to govern fair play. This does not exist today. Something will need to change.

And how much do you want to bet that Tyrell Pryor and the other OSU players will either be forgiven and allowed to play those 5 games or the penalty will be reduced to one or two games. I don't konw the OSU schedule next year but there is no way in Hell that the NCAA will suspend Pryor for an important game on the OSU schedule. Any bets????

i think it's pretty ridiculous he's been playing for the last 4 years and then all of a sudden now he's getting suspended

This is a terrible ruling, to suspend 5 games next year and allow the players to play in the bowl game, what if they were seniors?

However the claim that the NCAA made this ruling about $$$ is not accurate, the NCAA has no role in the college football postseason, does not make a dime from the BCS.

"The simple explanation is that the BCS is a cartel and the bowls are a costly but important way to block the NCAA’s central office from participating. The NCAA has nothing to do with major college football’s postseason; it doesn’t even officially recognize a champion."

from an old Yahoo piece by Dan Wetzel who later wrote "Death to the BCS"

To say the players weren't sure of the rules is horse crap. Everyone knows college athletes aren't supposed to profit from anything. Seriously the NCAA is starting to look like our government, very proud and very full of it.

Yeah probably but Ohio State will be 4-1 at worst after those first 5 games. They play 3 cupcakes in those first 5 games and they'll go at least 1-1 against Miami & MSU.
