I could not believe how bad Lee was, how bad the offense was
wait, didn't Lee just take over the offense like the Friday before?

With this one thread you have rocketed to the top for the dumbest poster of the year award

He's not wrong, its just an extremely pointless discussion because the game is 2 years old and Lee hasn't been on the team for a year and a half

He's not wrong,
OBUDan also made this claim along with a pic laden thread about how the passes that hit players in the hand or chest were really bad passes because they didn't hit both hands, or the WR had to adjust their body or leap
He was laughed at heartily
By the next week the announcers were talking about how many dropped passes they saw. The quit counting at 8, before halftime

can't we all just agree with
quote:that Lee was one of the all time greats and that Miles is an idiot for not recognizing his greatness such as
TIGRLEE
quote:has recognized. If only Lee had started every game we would have won 4 straight NC's during his greatness tenure of greatness

Which has what to do with this thread or this coming up season, exactly?

OK, I reposted the stats that are irrelevant of number of games played.
Lulz. So you think that negates the overall offensive rankings that were posted?

Is this your award or someone else's? Where do I pick it up?
I just watched the game yesterday. He was awful. He got better as the season went on, but my memory of that game was that Lee was serviceable and that we pretty much handled Oregon. My memory was clouded by the dominance later in the season against Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn. That first game was really bad by the offense.
I get that he just became a starter. He was a 5th year senior, though, so that argument is no good.
There is a myth surrounding that game because we see it through the lens of the team that went 13-0 against the toughest schedule in the history of college football. But, the truth is that the offense really, really struggled. It was, in many ways, a foreshadowing of what would happen on 1/9, just against one of the best defenses in college football history. And, with a QB that was even worse.
What motivated me to write was to say that whatever happens in the TCU, barring a loss, is not the end of the story on this offense. It might take some time. But, all the pieces are there. I am getting excited for the season.
I have always been a fan of Lee, by the way, and I would have preferred that the arrangement had remained that he started and then JJ came in for relief work to change things up. I called for that constantly after the Alabama game. Let them complement each other. JJ just didn't have a head for football, as history has proven.

and if it were not for TM7, Sam Montgomery, and Eric Reid, LSU might now win that game.
so stupid

But history has proven Lee had a hidden greatness head for football as proven by the greatness of his head in football. So many championships left on the table because Miles and the other nimwits on the coaching staff didn't recognize the greatness of Lee and also Shepard. Just imagine Lee to Shepard as the non stopable force of football nature greater than has ever been seen in the annuals of football!

People believe what they want to believe about Lee. He was a below average QB.
Oregon was the first game, he improved a bunch to get us to 8-0. Actually he was ranked #1 SEC QB when we pulled him (With that schedule)
Not saying great QB, but considering what he went through,

You beat the ever living shite out of that straw man. Congrats.

Similar to the BCS NC vs OU. Mauck had more yards (159)on more attempts but threw two picks. We won that game with D and running. So what are you crying about?
And BTW, if you want to post terrible how about
JJ in the SECCG that same year
Jefferson 5-13-0-30

So, without some of our best players we wouldn't have beat the preseason #3 team and eventual PAC 10 champion. Got it.

I'll see your hyperbolic straw man and raise you with a non provable what if.
Lee to Shepard in retrospect sounds better and potentially looks better than JJ to the turf, which is what we saw.

Read through this thread and then rewatched the game again..
Dropped pass
Dropped pass
Ball bounces off hands
Dropped pass
Dropped pass
Dropped pass
Dropped pass
And people look at the stats and say "whoa! That's bad!"
The receivers should have been ashamed of themselves
