We rushed the ball down everybodys throat that year. Had a great de and the best punter in LSU history. We wore our opponents down and ran the ball ad nauseum in the 2nd half. It was our modus operondi. To win 12 games with either qb was miraculous.
We won an sec champ game with no 1st downs in the 1st half and put up 300 yds rushing in the second. We didnt need to throw the ball at all in the second. You guys dont understand or better yet have ever played a down of football

The defense and Chavis have bailed out Les and the offense for years. This isn't news.

Did you really need to re-watch to figure it out that Lee was nota real factor?

We won because we had speed WITH physicality on D unlike anything the vaunted Duck O had seen before...n we had a power running game.

There was NEVER a thought about getting into a passing match with them.

Actually you'll have a hard time finding career evidence to back that up.
That said, I think he should have still led some series after 11-5-11 though.
What is Lee doing these days?

championships the last two seasons . A un-experienced Mett is better than Lee or jefferson on their best day.

Not only that but Mett would have had an extra years experience and perhaps would not have been so clueless last year. Miles made his bed with JJ and ended up paying the ultimate price, Mett on his worst day is still better than a JJ or JL on their best.

I'm not going to rehash the JJ vs. Lee argument.

With regards to that game, however, I do think the OP has created a strawman.

Everybody came out of that game with a positive attitude towards Lee because Lee did exactly what he needed to do, and no more.

He didn't give the game away. He provided just enough of a threat with his arm to keep the D honest. He played within himself. The reason everybody came out of that game feeling good about Lee was because we all knew that we didn't need much more out of that position to win a lot of games. We just needed the THREAT of a vertical passing game... that's it.

I will also agree with the OP that he did indeed miss some throws. But I put that mostly on the playcalling - evident the ENTIRE year and last year - which simply DOES NOT allow a quarterback to get into any rhythm. The playcalling had no flow and both quarterbacks suffered as a result. It's hard to be accurate and look good when you only throw on 3rd and long.

I'm glad we don't have to deal with past qb issues last year and this year.

Truth is the whole LM, JL, JJ ordeal made LSU football less enjoyable for me and lots of other LSU fans.

we remember the 2011 Tigers as dominant

bullshite. I am not "we". The Tigers won that year but were far from dominant. 9-6 win at Bama is not dominant. They struggled the last 3 games of the season. If not for Honey Badger they wouldn't have even won 2 of the last 3 against Ark. and the SEC Champ. against Georgia. Dominant? You can't be that stupid.
