They were #3. Quietly one of the highest ranked opponents to ever play in Tiger Stadium.

Montgomery's sack and the Jeremy Hill run to ice the game stand out from that game. "Handoff to the youngster, Hill breaks free! And a foot race! Can't catch him. How about this freshman? 50 yards for a touchdown! And that's the dagger."

While the 2012 USCe game was the only game I've ever been to the atmosphere before and during the game was electric and it was an experience I will never forgot

I think the Troy game was the largest deficit ever overcome in LSU history...28 points. I think the SC game gets overlooked because the team lost 3 games that year and was highly ranked initially. The two OT wins in 2000 gave us a sense the Tigers were back after a two year drought ( LSUs last losing seasons). I get a kick out of hearing fans say they were young in 2000. Trust me if you were young then you still are.

LSU went 8-5 last season but I don't think anyone will ever forget the #3 Ole Miss game.
People forget about the South Carolina game because LSU lost the game before it and it was the last home game before the Alabama game.

2007 LSU vs Auburn will forever be the game that made me an LSU fan

The last game of a bitterly disappointing season...but a sign of what was soon to come...

I'd just like to say thank you to rnolan53 on youtube for posting some awesome highlight videos. I'm pretty sure most of, if not all the links in this thread have been to his videos. I know I've enjoyed everything that he has put on youtube that is LSU related. Keep up the good work rnolan53! and

2002 South Carolina game is definitely underrated.
Anyone that was there remembers the noise after Hookfin's pick six. The student section was a damn insane asylum. Gives me chills thinking about it.

It was so cold for that game, all the highlights are frozen.
What Miles said afterwards...
quote:
"I blame me for the way we started that game," LSU coach Les Miles said. "We didn't show confidence in our quarterbacks, and we tried to hamstring them. We told them we were going to run the football, and they loaded up the line."

I started a real nice "Eric Reid!" chant right after his INT that he got hurt on.
That game was awesome, USC fans are a good time. that game or 2010 was my favorite game as a student.

The Oregon State game in 2004, while frustrating, was a big win that seemed like it was headed for defeat. Serna choke job!

That was a great game, for sure. MSU that same season was pretty good too. Tigers came back from a huge deficit to beat a pretty feisty Dawg team. Reed was pretty much, well, Reed. Fun game.

1990 Texas A&M at LSU.
As is well established, we poor LSU students of the Hallman years had very little to cheer about. This was perhaps the only satisfying home win over a ranked opponent of the time, where Tiger Stadium magically felt like Tiger Stadium. The Stadium we expected going into our time at LSU.
Youngsters, do yourself a favor and watch a highlight or two from this game. LSU came to kick arse and they did. There was even a fight between an A&M player and ball boy! The crowd was openly hostile and loud, and Todd Kinchen was unstoppable that night.
The Aggies went home with their tail between their legs that night, and it was one of those nights where the team and the crowd were one. And it was RARE in those days.

2005 Auburn was awesome. The LSU auburn games in the later part of the tuberville era were absolute slug fest, neither fanbase or team seemed to like each other.

Does anyone remember way back in the dark ages of the Hallman era, Ole Miss '93? I think they were ranked at the time, it was cold as shite, Jay Johnson went for over 100, and we won on a missed field goal. The next week we beat top 5 Bama on the road. That's my pick. This Tennessee game was legendary, though.

Take the 15 minutes and watch what is probably the most forgotten/underrated games ever in tiger stadium. LSU vs TENN 2000
This was the first game that came to mind when I read the title of this thread.
The Toefield run was awesome to see in person.
