in the history at LSU ???
I nominate J. Lee.
Obviously, someone else who's only been following LSU football for all of about 3 years.
History?

It is Booty in my book - 1. My committing to LSU and leaving for MLB, he prevented some top QB recruits from coming to LSU
2. His 1999 season was abysmal going 2-8 as a starter and having 7 TDs and 19 ints
3. His arrogance cost LSU games against Bama and UAB
4. Most importantly, he kept Rohan Davey off the field
5. When Rohan showed that he was the better player, Booty ran to the NFL. At least Lee hasn't transferred and has showed loyalty to LSU even when it looked like he would always be a backup
I agree with all of this...but I also blame the coaches for #3 and #4 because he had no business even seeing the field in 2000 after his pick-six-a-thon in 1999...The UAB game cemented my dislike of Saban...his insistence on playing Booty in spite of all evidence that he just didn't have it drove me nuts.
I would also add Georgia '99 where he blew the 2 point conversion to the bill of particulars against Mr. Booty, but maybe that's just piling on.

Come on. The fans were sucking Josh Booty's dick in 1999 and were still riding his jock through the 2000 season.

The correct answer is Jamie Howard

Ha, half the posters on this board are enamored with Lee to the extent that offering even a slight criticism of his play means you are a "Lee hater."
I'd wager that Lee is one of the most popular players on the team, even...

Ha, no one hated him. We just all knew he sucked.

The only folks hating on Lee at this point are the tards that thought JJ was our only option. They are defending their e-cred, for whatever reason

All four guys were liabilities to the success of LSU during their time. Jefferson, Randall, & Booty especially due to all the talent around them. Howard had less but still sucked. And don't tell me a good QB can't change a team (see Andrew Luck at Stanford).
1) Josh Booty
2) Jamie Howard
3) Marcus Randall
4) Jordan Jefferson

Maybe my perspective was different from the student section, but people in my area of the stadium DEFINITELY wanted Davey to play over him...Maybe that's why the fans who did hate him hated him so much more though. There is a certain (thankfully dwindling) percentage of the fanbase that is always looking for the next "great white hope." Not everyone who pulled for Booty was this way, but I heard enough old people say they were happy to have a white quarterback that it made me dislike his personal arrogance and entitlement even more.
I don't want to make this about the Lee/JJ saga, because I genuinely think many Lee fans like him because he is a quarterback for LSU...I agree with that (the only exception to that for me EVER has been Booty, because he screwed LSU coming and going with his early declaration to LSU and late entering of the baseball draft).
However, we have to ask ourselves the honest question: "If the 2 quarterbacks who have thrown the most picks and the most pick sixes hadn't been white with a black backup, would they have maintained the same level of fan support from a fanbase that otherwise ALWAYS wants the backup in?" At the moment, it's a moot point, but if/when JJ gets reinstated, and if Miles plays him, we can't properly judge the fan reaction without looking at it through this unfortunate prism.

Lee was thrown in before he was ready. That was Perrilloux's fault. You never know how his confidence level would have changed without 2008. That being said, he has been clutch which Booty was not.

Very very true! Lee certainly has is moments, and he has shown real progress. Whereas Booty was the antithesis of clutch. See UAB, 2000.
My list starts and stops with Josh Booty.

You answered your own question.
Lee's stats Prior to this year
Passing 213-398 18 int. 18 tds.
Rushing 24 att. -166 yards
5-4 as a starter
This could be why

It's not even close.

Whenever a guy can show as much humility as Lee has, he proves that he has potential to be a leader. He has mental strength. This guy has went from being the laughing stock of the country on ESPN 3 years ago to being the leader of a powerful offense that can take us all the way. If you hate Lee then you obviously don't respect a guy who has humbled himself and waited for his chance for redemption.
Booty is my number one. I had a friend of mine that knew him in Shreveport and said he was a total A-hole off the field as well.

I don't know about HATE, but LSU surely wasn't selling many #16 jerseys when Chad Loup was the starter, if you know what I mean.
I think the top five, for reason ranging from bad play, bad personality, bad timing, or bad fans, in chronological order would be:
1) Carl Otis Tremble
2) Jamie Howard
3) Josh Booty
4) Marcus Randall
5) Jordan Jefferson
Lee gets a dis-honorable mention for his frosh year. Anytime you get booed when your announced at the start of the game, and cheered as you're taken off while injured during the same game, that prolly warrants a mention.

Jamie Howard, Marcus Randall or Chad Loup.
Honestly Herb Tyler is not far behind even though he won alot of games.
