LSU scored 2 Offensive Touchdowns. That is not even remotely in the ballpark of Dominating.

Since I am a strong believer that dominating defenses "03 team, '86 Bears, etc. win championships, I vote for that win. However, the whooping over Va Tech (which turned out to be pretty good once they settled down their freshman QB. IMO the only team that would have given the 03 team fits would have been '06.

Thats why I DON'T think that game was very impressive. Was it a complete game of total control?? YES!! But look who we were playing and when it was!!!

They (VT) probably would have if they hadn't given up two TD's to Boston College in the 4th quarter in their other loss, 14-10. They would have been reluctantly voted in if they'd held on

what are you talking about? They beat BC again in the conf title game. And, besides, even with 2 losses that they did have they were #3 in the BCS, I believe. There is no doubt that the LSU game cost VT a spot in the BCS title game in 2007. Go look at the last BCS standings of that year.

I'm talking about the regular season game where VT lost to BC in their 2nd loss despite being up 10-0 with about 7-8 minutes left in the game.

Tech's problem was that first loss, of course, and that was kinda my whole point, you misunderstood something somewhere.

It's hard to look past the '01 season. It blew everyone's expectations.

Davey passing for 528 yards against 'bama.
Leading Illinois 34-7 at halftime.

Maybe not the most important single games ever, but they set the tone for this decade of LSU football.

the eventual ACC champs, who would have gone to the BCSNC that year if it weren't for LSU stomping them?

They are still talking about that game in Blacksburg. Well, they tell me about it since they know I am an LSU grad.

PJ must have a different definition of dominating, because 2007 VT is the MF'ing epitome of dominating. The 2007 Tigers were just that good in the beginning of the year, before injuries, check the game before vs Miss St.

IMO, beating up on some small school (Rice in '77) should be ground ruled out on this thread. As far as dominant performances here's a list that comes to mind:

'70: 61-17 over OM
'72: 35-7 over AU
'73: 51-14 over OM
'76: 45-0 over OM
'82: 45-8 over OM
'82: 55-21 over FSU
'83: 40-14 over Wash.
'02: 36-7: over UF (has to be the worst beat down over UF in the Swamp since Spurrier)
'03: 31-7 over AU
'03: 34-13 over UGA in SECCG
'07: 48-7 over VT
'05-'08: any of Les's bowl games

Virginia Tech and GT Peach Bowl

I think we could have scored 70 points in either game if we really wanted to.

Yo u guys must really be young. I can remember quite a few games since the late fifties that LSU totally dominated its opponents. Even though they cost us a shot at the NC back in '69 the Ole Miss game of'70 comes to mind. Oh, what about that 28 to 8 LSU victory over Notre Dame in'72 or'73. I'm getting senile so I can't remember the exact year of the ND game but we beat them in TS. I think the year before they beat us 3 to 0 in South Bend. We lost that game but it was one hell of a game. The SC loss in TS some years later reminded me of the ND game. Both were close losses but they were well played games.
