apparently i have a better knowledge of the situation than you, since you would be in favor of taking significantly less money to have night games.

my point was simply that someone at lsu could and should have gone to bat to preserve at least one guaranteed.

i agree. lsu didn't frick up. it is what it is. i just think when people like karma come on here and call people idiots for wanting a piece of tradition to stick around is stupid on their part and makes them look like asses.

wanting it is fine.
i'd rather LSU games be at night too.
But making a petition with inflammatory speech, contentious language, against a corporation that's funding your school, promoting your school in a positive way, and basically giving you something thousands of other colleges are begging for?

yes. Coon. That's just stupid.

we almost always have one... just shitty circumstances this year (like all non CBS games the weekend of UK having to be at 11:20, Tennessee sucking so they don't want to show them against Bama, and us being #1 fricking up our night schedule)

Really? How many SEC home games were played during the day in 2007? And I'm OK with the Arky game geing a day game. I like that tradition.

The same amount of people have access to a 7:00 game on ABC as do a 2:30 game on CBS.

For those of you that are trying to say that we would automatically have more people watching a game that is at 2:30, Two SEC schools in contention for the SEC West and the MNC playing at 2:30 had LESS people watching than a night game with only one MNC contender.

I had no idea what the numbers were so I didn't get into that end of the discussion. These numbers are pretty shocking.

I want night games too, but I live in reality and know the only way LSU is going back to night games again is if they are unranked and sucking because no national network is going to want to pick them up.

jesus christ people.

Would you be one of them? I can tell you that I have a friend that was an athlete at LSU when I was there that is thinking about giving up his season tickets that he pays $3,500 for because he doesn't like the idea of going to the National L Club for mimosas and Bloody Marys before the Kentucky game....and not seeing a single night SEC game this year. I'm sure that he is not alone in that thought. I'm pretty sure that having 90,000 people on campus paying to park and buying merchandise all day long is better for the school than it is when when they head for the gates at 2 PM.

I got invited to an L Club pregame spread last year and it was kind of meh. I can understand the lack of enthusiasm, start time notwithstanding.

i find them more enjoyable. however, my preferences are subordinate to the greater good for LSU. And I also recognize that LSU is experiencing a perfect storm of a season, and that the fact that everyone wants to see the Tigers should be enjoyed, because 5 years from now, it might not be the case that CBS wants LSU on at 230.

LOL, Most people do NOT pay to park, nor buy ANY thing except at the game. I have NEVER been in the union as a fan once I left LSU.

Is this the facebook page you're talking about? If so, your analysis is grossly over exaggerating anything that I've read.

this whole argument reminds me of one time in 2000 probably saban came speak to our booster club in thibodaux (this is pre-tiger tour when it was just 20-30 people in a restaurant's back room) and after he talked he went around and shook hands with everyone and one lady told him I shite YOU NOT "coach, i just want you to know it was a lot easier to get tickets before we started winning..."

The thing that pisses me off the most about being on CBS is not the time slot but the thought of rotting for 3-5 minutes in the sun every time they go to one of their many commercial breaks!

this is not true, at all. for this year sure but not the future.
sec is about to re-work its tv contract and a petition to let the lsu admin know we want to preserve at least one night game is a good idea.

CBS will choose the game that they think will be the most watched out of the games to choose from.

i'd love for every game to be a night game with CBS/ABC broadcasting it.

every one of them!

but that's not reality. and so here we are, stuck with 2:30.
