Holy dumbass!!! It doesn't make a difference!! It doesn't make a difference if it comes from CBS or ESPN who ALSO paid for rights to broadcast SEC games. It doesn't even make a difference if LSU games are even broadcast. The contract was executed and the networks pay for the rights....even if the SEC evolves into the shittiest conference in the nation overnight. What fricking part of this do you not understand?

A simple "yes" would have sufficed.

call it what you want, call me what you want. I am not saying I agree with the petition because I don't and won't sign it. But what is he accomplishing by calling ppl idiots? if they want to voice their opinions thats fine. We all know its a waste of time, but it makes them feel better. More power to them.

we are #1. Our TV partner wants us in there "prime" slot. They compensate us handsomely for it. Would you rather be 9-3 every year and get all 7:00 games?

this. Some of our fans are idiots.

One thing that does worry me, is that with night games becoming increasingly rare, the ones we do have will become shitshows due to the sidewalk fans.

But to make it sound like night games are where we send vandy to play ole miss is foolish.

I didn't mean that. But 2:30 is where they send the awesome games people want to see. Its a compliment to LSU that we are on at that time. Trust me, I'd like more 7:00 games but a petition just makes the people signing it look ignorant to the terms of the contract with the SEC and our TV partners.

but this response makes you look like an idiot. you're an LSU fan, right? and you don't have any want for a night SEC game? it's TRADITION. It's what we do. We have songs written about it. Dan Borne spouts off about it every game (and mid game if he has to). It's one one this years tickets. Face it karma, it's TRADITION

I want what's best for the university, Coon. Which is for them to play in the most highly exposed, coveted spot, when it has the most eyeballs in the nation poised upon our talented team.

Tradition is a bullshite word to mean "what we used to do."

you need to recognize the value and power of what LSU is being given when it's given the 230 spot. how many sports fans, media, pollsters and future tigers will be watching that game at that spot in the day. the rest of the country doesn't live and die watching football on saturday nights.

deal with that.

I want a night game with Auburn. More than anyone else. But I'm not going to petition/complain about being on national TV.

The 11 other schools in the SEC probably really don't give a shite if we want to play at night or not. We're just gonna have to deal with it fellas.

there are a lot more traditions that are created daily that no one rails against.

Like singing the alma mater after wins.
like louisiana saturday night being played at games. (bc that didn't start til this decade.)
Like 'Neck.

Traditions start, end and fade away. Like LSU Ark on the day after thanksgiving.

shut the frick up and roll with it. LSU getting millions of dollars in PR is worth far more than a game being moved 5 hours.

so your argument is to just take it. None of the things you mentioned take away from older traditions. Halloween night, the earthquake, 97 uf, beating bama in 01. Traditions do start and fade away... at shitty programs that don't have roots. We have roots.

"Three thousand years of beautiful tradition, from Moses to Sandy Koufax... You're goddamn right I'm living in the fricking past! "

what the frick michael j?
it's as american a right to make fun of someone else's stupid opinion as the person's right to voice the opinion itself.

CBS's nationally exposed games brings million dollars of revenue for the school paid directly to the university, and millions of dollars of PR for the school.

would CBS adding night games or ESPN/ABC picking them up as night games change any of this?

I love night games, it is one of the things that make LSU unique. No problem with some people bringing this to the networks attention.

You obviously mean " a simple no"....but since you are such a dick, I thought I'd expose your idiocy a tad,...although you seem to be doing a fine job all on your own.

Nationally televised coverage on a major network is a GOOD thing in every aspect. Just think of what recruits are thinking when they see LSU on tv every single week.

You do realize that if we had gotten the 7:00 ESPN/ABC game, we'd still be on national television? And that ESPN tends to talk more about the schools/games they're televising that week instead of inadvertently promoting another network's game?

There is nothing wrong with the petition. Will it change anything? Most people that "liked" the page know it wont. But the more people expressing how they feel about the schedule, the better chance things might change sometime in the future.

Would you guys be ok if CBS guaranteed us that 3 of our 4 SEC games would be at night in exchange for only taking 50% of the money we take?

I think we have pin pointed the 800 fans who were booing their own players.

Since some of us are interested in LSU as an academic institution, the money matters.

There have already been budget cuts to higher education. More money injected to the university from CBS is a win.

And it's not like we can't still have tradition. We're never going to replicate the past. We can only concern ourselves with the future.

this is idiotic. no one is going to give up money. also, teams that play at 2:30 don't get more money than vandy. It's what makes us the SEC and not the big12. We aren't going to get less money for playing at night. Will we get less exposure, marginally yes. Marginally.

thank you.
thats the point MOST of the "opposition" is trying to make. there are other options besides 2:30 cbs games and relative obscurity
