The LSU shoulder Pad Discussion Thread

We know Fournette wears them but the reveal for Devin White was unexpected. Now let's discuss:Who makes them, why are they still wearing them, and can I get a pair. Seems like the former players love them and they seem to go beast mode in them. My point here is we got some damn good players in the NFL that is all :

You said all of this:
To make this point?
Are you up early? Or awake late?

Awake late and up early. Just got to work. I was showing some LSU love here I guess the shoulder pads triggered it lol.

Why do you need a set of should pads? What is your job? Football player? Wrestler? Road warrior?

Hey FLBoo I’m up early at work too and I was like hell ya when I saw the purple and gold pads under whites jersey

Nike prolly since LSU is under contract to use Nike gear but its most likely Riddell or Schutt

why are they still wearing them?
because athletes are a superstitious lot

Sure just go down to Dicks or Academy and buy you a pair.

If I were to somehow get a football from an nfl game, I would be happy. And it’s not because I’m a professional football player.

I’m pretty sure they were asked about this before and they have said the reason is because of comfort and they have tried others but they don’t feel right.

Quit acting like Aggies, who glob up associative glory every time their alums get NFL attention.
Act like NFLSU

They make display cases for footballs. They are commonly collected. Haven’t seen many shoulder pad displayed and collected but, I guess if you want another man’s shoulder pads in your bedroom then you do you.

Saints need more LSU players
That is all
That is all

They, of course, get the shoulder pads custom fitted at LSU. I bet it’s a combination of
1) if it ain’t broke don’t fix it
2) comfort, familiarity
3) LSU pride
4) superstition
Love it either way. Felt like LF7 and DW should’ve sat the game outta respect for da boot (joking)

Yeah, but your argument was about him not needing them because he couldn’t use them. Which is nonsensical.

How long until Roger Goodell fines them for wearing unsanctioned NFL equipment?

Shoulder pads are made by Riddell or Douglas...players choose/eq mgrs fit as freshman at LSU...(and all other CFB schools too)
The pads get broke in to the player fairly quickly...comfort
The pads get "reconditioned" by douglas and riddel every summer
Most players never want to change their pads...unless injury prone on some contributing reason to change them
They all have the option to take them to the league, most take them
Most NFL players have their college pads....not all are colored as obviously as LSU...purple/gold
LSU aint that special, the pads aren't laced with steroids or something
They are broke in like a baseball glove, so the athlete doesn't want to change

I don't know, Jor Jor...you're gonna have to provide better evidence than that to back up your claim.
