OK, let's try this. You finish.
On a scale of 1-100, based on the level of talent and the resources available, I think that the LSU FB team's performance (game planning, game day adjustments, player development, preparedness, etc.) over the past 5 years has been....

(just pick a number based on your introspective evaluation)

You are completely incorrect about how our fanbase is viewed across the CFB landscape. I have been all around the country represting and following LSU. Literally, almost universally LSU fans are held in the highest regard

Not been my experience. It's about split in terms of how people feel in terms of their treatment by LSU fans (always some idiots who can't separate a fan from an enemy) and mostly incredulous at the amount of venom that the many vocal fans direct toward the team and coaches. They are almost always positive about the pregame gameday activities, though, particularly the tailgating atmosphere.

come on now...would you really expect him to say that his defense is the reason LSU was in the NCG in 2011?

would it not be more meaningful if numerous former players came to Miles defense in light of the fanbase & media criticism?

I don't think anyone doubts Chavis would say such about his boss.

To all those that think LSU is a notch below eltite, please name what you consider elite programs.

I have asked this in other threads throughout the season and I am yet to get anyone to name those programs.

Fairly happy means that I'm not expecting any coaching changes but I would be excited about any infusion of new blood. It also means that I think adjustments can be made that could improve the team next year without any new hires, and I think Mile's track record shows that he usually fixes problems, some faster than others, of course. College football is never consistent from year to year and this past year was dissappointing given the expectations at the beginning of the year, but acceptable given the injuries and other factors affecting the team. I am expecting to see player development and more complexity in the offense next year since the players will have more experience. I don't think LSU is in decline. Every year has its ups and downs.

no doubt & there are douches in every fanbase, but people I talk to that have been to LSU games usually understand this.

yep

But I thought that only on TD do LSU fans express displeasure about CLM....that the rest of the fanbase was happy with the direction of the program. (not directed at you, rather the other fella that was saying that fans outside of TD are happy with the program)

BTW-how would non-LSU fans experience the "venom that the many vocal fans direct toward the team and coaches?" Just curious.

Do you really even have to ask this? Who do you think this board is going to say?

So B/B+. Fair enough.
It really boils down to expectations and management of those expectations.
There are a lot of fans that feel that for the money being paid LSU can expect better than B/B+ performance.
You and others are content with it.
That's really it in a nut shell other than opinions on whether that performance will improve/decline/remain unchanged.

So, it's JUST Bama?
Even though LSU beats Bama with some regularity.

Every other program is mediocre.
Got it.

Reinforces what I believe about a significant portion of LSU "fans".

Which programs have more wins per dollar spent?

I wonder if those programs are the elite programs that a few of you refuse to name?

I have supported him all along (except for the week after losing to Arkansas in 2007 before beating Tennessee in the SEC Title Game). However, after the game last weekend, I believe that Les must hand over ALL offensive play calling to an offensive coordinator. It can be his offensive system, but he should not be the final decider for the offense. He can keep everything else, but he should no longer be calling the plays. 3 passes in a row when you are trying to run out the clock is criminal. They would have been better off kneeing the ball 3 times and punting to force Clemson to use up their timeouts.

I watched Florida get creamed by Louisville last night. I just complained about our frustrating 10 win season to a couple of Auburn fans. They laughed in my face. Kinda made me rethink how pissed off i am about a couple of close losses. There were mistakes made that made those losses tough to take no doubt. And I'm not saying everything is roses. But occasionally you need to count your blessings.

show me one post where i've said i was "content" with the offensive performance. i don't think anyone has said they're content with our offensive rankings. I am, however, content with competing year in and year out for championships.

I attended LSU during some very lean years and the decade plus has been a dream come true!

Do we have some issues? Yes.
Are we in decline? A laughable no!

LSU has a large percentage of "fans" that are the epitome of hypocrisy.

Demand perfection!
Awful lot to ask from a mediocre program.

Still only one reply to my questions...typical.
