For a few years GG has been a total idiot for criticizing Miles in any fashion.
Several other media members have joined in (local & national) & they're crushed as idiots by the Miles gestapo.

All the while, more & more traditional Miles loyalists are stating that they can't defend him any more. Say what you want, but overall confidence in the program is declining (at a rate unique to each individual) although the signs have been there for years.

The blind Miles supporters are ferociously digging in their heels. That part is interesting and amusing if nothing else. (They're reminiscent of blind Obama supporters although I can atleast rationalize their actions b/c they're getting free stuff or think they are.)

It's almost like watching a TV drama/comedy. I've gone from being way too passionate about the situation to much more blase (I really have tried to fight this). Although I have my opinions and get frustrated, I have accepted the fact that nothing I do will change much. The pure entertainment factor of LSU football is not what it once was for me & I've been watching games since ~1980.

As someone said yesterday, I believe....it seems like the reaction to the games & discussion of coaching issues has become more prevalent for some than watching the game itself. Perhaps it's b/c many games are simply not that entertaining...IDK.

I do work & associate with CFB fans all over the country. The continuing Les Miles dramedy is continually a source of entertainment for them.

State of affairs here @ Duke & Duke.

Consistently recruit in the top 10, compete for the west and SEC almost every year, yep declining!!

Grow up if that's what you're hangin your hat on, that's what it reminds me of (but different board).
The rest is true & you're denial is deep. But that's your prerogative & I do respect that.
As I said, the ongoing comments/excuses from your clan is entertaining.

As for GG, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

Regardless of personal feelings, that post is true....just look/read around you (whether you care or not is another story).

so if you consort with college football fans (presumably some will not be tide or florida fans) so would those fans trade their team's success for LSU's in the last 7-8 yrs?

It's too easy to succumb to the assumption that the opinions expressed on the rant represent those of the larger fan base. As with any message board, participants on the rant tend to be those who express dissastisfaction more than those who are satisfied. The large percentage of ranters who are demanding change are a small percentage of the overall fan base. While Miles is open to criticism, as is any coach and program, the majority of fans outside of the rant are fairly happy with the state and direction of the program. That's why it's funny when ranters call for boycotts and adminstrative action. It's also fallacious to assume that those on the rant who are critical are the only fans who are paying attention and intelligent enough to understand the issues and recognize the problems. That's why the patronizing attitude of your post is amusing. You can make the same points without being so smug, and then your arguments would be more salient.

I have been and continue to be a Miles supporter...

I think the play calling at the end of the game is worth discussing and was a failure (obviously...)

I also think the overall production of our offense through out the season is worth discussing and is an issue that Miles should address..

However what should be equally discussed ( as it relates to the Chicken Bowl..) is the crappy calls by the refs (calls noted for their questionable veracity by the commentators) that was mostly in the 2nd half, in favor of Clemson and kept Clemson drives alive...

The fact that we were still in the game after such issues is a credit to the players and the coaches..

Any team can beat any other team but no team can beat the refs...

Example of two entertaining thoughts...
If you believe that the majority of fans are happy with the direction of the program, that's entertainging to me for some reason in a throw your hands up laughing kind of way. Just walk around and listen to folks during game day....you don't have to want CLM fired to want change & be unsatisfied with the direction of the prgram.

...and.....more excuses, which have become strangely entertaining also (especially the creative ones).

So LSU football continues to be one of the most profitable programs in the nation because the majority of LSU fans are not happy?

No & that's fair.
But most of them would also not trade their coach for Miles at this time (e.g. my aTm, TCU, bama, UTx, Baylor, FSU, SC, ND, OU, UF associates). However some would, especially from other teams like UH, UTenn, Arky(a little), MSU (a little), & obviously other smaller schools.

The main point is that almost universally they find the whole Miles situation to be very entertaining. Regardless of your feelings, he is a continual source of interest (good or bad), and I find that his entire aura is just entertaining/comical to most other fan bases.

I mean, how many of you didn't get at least a text or 12 from some other CFB fans saying, "WTF?" after numerous LSU games or Miles interviews?
None of that is a flame on Miles.

are you familiar with the rabid LSU fanbase?
I'm a perfect example of a person who was born into passionate fandom, attended LSU, competed for LSU, graduated from LSU, have countless other family members who have attended/graduated from LSU, continue to attend games/buy ridiculous amounts of overpriced merchandise...& I'm stupid frustrated & unhappy with our FB team's performance on a regular basis.

I know the point you're trying to make, but I don't think you really believe it's valid.
This is pretty typical for CFB fans of countless programs.
