I don't doubt that. But part of my denial comments have to do with the Miles supporters really believing that the fanbase as a whole (outside of "rantards") is happy & pleased with the direction of the program. More & more fans are growing frustrated and unconfident with Miles' ability to lead this program (as it stands now), particularly on the biggest stage. Can he change that? sure Will he? who knows
Whether the staunchest supporters choose to recognize this is irrelevant.

Do you actually watch other teams play? You are on here spewing shite about how bad our program has gotten and how its on the decline.

Did you watch the UF game last night? UF didn't even show up and got fricking throttled in every phase of the game by a FAR inferior team. We lost by one point on the last play of the game to an opponent that is very talented. Say what you want about it being Clemson and whatever BS excuse you want, but they were 10-2 and ranked #14 and their QB and one of their WRs just played the best games of their lives.

I would rather lose to Clemson by one than get throttled by fricking Louisville.

The things some of you people criticize Miles happen in football games every single day. Maybe you should try watching some other games and take note of the mistakes their coaches make.

Has the football program has always been this successful and profitable?

You stated the confidence and enthusiasm in the program is falling due to Miles, when in fact the numbers tell a different story.

Yet LSU is a top 5 money making football program. Surely if so many LSU fans were like you, more schools would jump LSU in this regards since that's typical of CFB fans of countless programs.

LSU fans view of Miles as a game day coach is glowing compared to the rest of the football world.

Firt off, I don't care about UF. All I care about is what I see. If you see an LSU team performing to it's max capabilities, that's your entitled opinion. Most would disagree with you.

And Louisville & Clemson are more similar than dissimilar. (Bridgewater would look great in an LSU uniform.)

All the while, more & more traditional Miles loyalists are stating that they can't defend him any more. Say what you want, but overall confidence in the program is declining (at a rate unique to each individual) although the signs have been there for years.

Consistently recruit in the top 10, compete for the west and SEC almost every year, yep declining!!

still trying to figure out how we are declining

We aren't. Lost 5 games in 2008.

Plateaued out, seems more likely.

That was a strong premise of my OP, which you obviously disagreed with.
The growing number of fans that say they "can no longer defend Miles" and of media that criticize him (over continued trends, not one or two games) is not a coincidence.
Again, whether you give a shite or not is not the point.

man, you're all-in with the 'trading places' theme.

pump the brakes. we lost three games to ranked teams by a total of 13 points, all the while playing the 3rd most freshmen/underclassmen in division 1. it was a good year.

if winning 10+ games with our schedule and competing for the national title in so many recent seasons isn't good enough, you need to find another hobby.

just because the offense wasn't spectacular doesn't mean that we need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

He stated that "confidence is declining" not necessarily the program. Based on winning percentage the program is not declining. To believe that the program is not capable of an even higher level of success would be, in my opinion, a denial of the facts. My entire family and many of my friends are die hard Tiger fans and share the opinion that the programs current level of success seems to come in spite of Miles game-day decisions rather than because of them. Most would be terrified to see Chavis get tired of carrying the load and leave. None of these friends and family are on the Rant, so it's certainly not just here.

Example of two entertaining thoughts...
If you believe that the majority of fans are happy with the direction of the program, that's entertainging to me for some reason in a throw your hands up laughing kind of way. Just walk around and listen to folks during game day....you don't have to want CLM fired to want change & be unsatisfied with the direction of the prgram.

...and.....more excuses, which have become strangely entertaining also (especially the creative ones).

So... Lets talk about "The Program" and what the direction is...

consistently considered top 10 if not top 5 for the last 8 to 10 years.. CHECK

fiscally profitable... CHECK

Generally clean and stand up as it relates to NCAA and violations... CHECK

Almost always (Last 8 years or so..) in the discussion for BCS Bowls... CHECK

I for one am thrilled with the direction of this program looking at the facts regarding the overall trajectory and recent history..

On the other hand, I like most LSU fans am not happy with a few play calls and clock management type of issues on the offensive side of the ball. We as fans should not confuse offensive issues with "Program" issues.

You know Miles has won a lot of games over his career and even a National Championship before Chavis showed up?

Didn't win it all.

LSU is a notch below elite. Until the offense is fixed, I doubt you will see another defense to carry LSU like you did in 2011. The offense kept LSU from a title then, and it will in the foreseeable future if it doesn't change.

LSU's offense has a random feel like the staff is drawing plays from a hat. The defense will only carry them so far.
