Finebaum just suggested that Bama keeping the game within one score kept them in the playoff discussion. Is he right? If so, it is a travesty and the playoff system needs to be scrapped and they need to start over.

I still can't get over our allowing Bama to score like that. I am an Aranda admirer but this was coaching malpractice in the extreme.

I think the committee will see it for what it was, somewhat of a garbage TD. We controlled nearly the entire game.

absolutely. a double digit loss at home would have ko'd them. Even 9 pts would have ko'd them.

Same thing happened at the end of the first half of the UCF bowl game.

Auburn beat them by 12 points in 2017 and they still backdoored their way in.

38 points to Texas, 38 points by Vandy, 28 points by Florida, 41 points by Bama. Why exactly do we love this guy??

No in the BCS era ya maybe. Committee watched the whole game... Bama did come back no doubt but LSU offense didn't have any troubles really...Bama offense was stopped numerous times. However the defense at the end was very confusing up by 2 scores.

They’d still be trying for a rematch if the final was 46-34. “Take away Tua’s fumble and INT - that’s 12 points right there!”

Vandy only scored 24 on the defense.

Why did you come spit rumors for a week that Tua wasn’t gonna play?

If the playoff field was expanded to 8, there is no discussion about any of this.

The 17 million people who watched the game say otherwise.

It was the high profile game of the day. What do you expect? I do think that people are sick of seeing the usual suspects in the playoffs every year. I dare say that lots of people don't want to see another Bama/Clemson NC game.

The fact that they never once had the ball with the ability to take the lead should hold way more weight than the last touchdown.

It might. but i just dont get how only having 1 good win against a 4 loss team would be better than a 1 loss champ. You'd be saying its ok to schedule poorly. If baylor/OU wins with 1 loss, they've earned it. They've beaten more than 1 ranked team.

Its mind boggling to allow the best 4 teams if they didn't have to prove it.

Ok lets talk about the "what ifs" Chase held on a route that was a for sure TD, I think York kicked the FG. Coach talking about a miscue on the OL that Jefferson was wide open over the middle for a TD. How about the last TD Stingley tripped but was step for step until so, and when he checked the sideline for the call and got beat and O even said it was a coaching mistake. Point is that LSU dogged walked Bama just like Texas but the score shows different! That game was never in doubt!

Only bama is allowed to argue this argument....i remember when we lost to Miss State and got skull F'd by them and with the last 8 min or so in the game we some how got within a score i believe of them....yet every time ESPN or anyone else talked about that game...they said it wasnt as close as the score indicated...why cant they say this about LSU BAMA game...
