re: The job O has done this season is nothing short of outstanding

Les would still be here
Is there anybody left that would actually prefer Les over Coach O? I see Les mentioned a lot, I don't think that anyone would argue that LSU had declined under his leadership after 2012. Does anyone think that coach O and his staff has reversed that trend or is anyone prepared to argue that LSU has continued that trend? I think that what we're seeing is a resurgence of LSU as a national power. The offense was at the beginning of the season and still is a work in progress.

but if we lose I cant shite on O for it because Bama has 95% of teams beat before they get off the bus.
Not calling the season nothing short of outstanding doesn't equal shitting on him.

There's two set of standards, one for Les Miles and one for Orgeron.
How many years did we go undefeated in September under Miles? When Orgeron does it, it's time to eat crow.
Orgeron's most ardent advocates don't want to admit that they set a low standard for him to meet.
You have to respect the stuff for punching Georgia in the mouth AFTER a loss.
That was great preparation by the staff to have them ready to go.
I couldn't stand the O hire but you have to give him props there.

Im praising O for the job he has done up until now.
That's a good point. I certainly mischaracterized the OP. My bad.

If we lose this week but win out and go to the Sugar you have to like that season right?
You cant really shite on that.
Now we drop one to aggy or arkansas and im pissed off as hell but I cant get mad at 10-2 and a Sugar bid.
Right?

The rare triple negative.

It really is amusing that before it was, don’t tell me what you have done in Sept.-Oct, tell me what you have done in Nov-Dec. Now, what we have done in Sept-Oct is “ incredible”.
7-1, #3 is great! Incredible will be it we are in the top four at the end of the regular season.
I think you are overanalyzing my post.
Im just saying this season has been good IMO, we are #3 right now and beat #2.
Not too bad.
I thought LSU would be shitty under O.
Im pleasantly surprised.

Of course. I think when you characterize something as "nothing short of outstanding" you're leaving the criteria open to interpretation and therefore some people are going to nitpick. My barometer has been and always will be 10 regular season wins. However, that's not going to stop me from pointing out things I think could use improvement.

right, I might of sang too much praise in the subject line.
I dont think this team is perfect by any means, offense is a huge work in progress, but I cant shite on #3 and wrecking UGA at home after a loss. Thats pretty good.

So, because a lot of people didn't expect a certain level of play, that lowers the standards of what incredible or outstanding is?

Your reasonable disposition does stand out here.

They thought this team had no chance to be good
We’re in the hunt for a NC
If that’s not outstanding, I don’t know what is

see, I can get passed the UF loss because we came back and wrecked a good team.
You see a team's character when they face adversity.
LSU looked at adversity and punched it in the fricking mouth.

And no one else should either. I just think there's a lot of space between shitting on something and calling it outstanding is all I'm saying.

Because you and others have claimed all along that coach O was worthless and to prove your point you brought up his record at ole miss and also attacked his character. You and others also shouted down anyone and everyone that said anything at all positive about the man and his staff. So when the man is successful early you seem surprised that his early success is thrown up in your face. Nobody has lowered any bars. You bring up Les would you really rather he be the coach right now? The comparisons between the two don't make sense. One was at the end of a great career tarnished by a wholly preventable decline. The other is the beginning of what we all hope, except for a clueless group, is a great career capped by SEC titles and national championships.

This isn't true at all. After 2011, Miles only had us in this position twice, 2012 and 2015. 2012 we lost to Alabama and then won out before playing like shite in the Peach Bowl loss to Clemson.
This good year was followed up by 2 absolutely mediocre years.
In 2015, Alabama crushed us and then we got our asses kicked by Arkansas and Ole Miss the next two weeks.
Orgeron won't have much support at all if he has a 4 year stretch like the one Miles had. Hell, he might not even get a shot at that 4th year if he goes 9-3 & 8-4 in the next two years like Miles did in 2013 and 2014.

Coach O SEC record 14-5
Miles SEC record 15-11
he’s doing much much better than miles last few years.
