AD is responsible for MM having a shitty team by dismissing Wade. Wade would still have a good team if he was still coach.

The guy's first year and he inherited a team that had no good players basically.

This is the worst take on this board re: McMahan.

This team is loaded with 4 star players, and we picked up 3 players from a ncaa tourney team, and future NBA player/conf. player of the year.

Will Wade had us making yearly NCAA tournament appearances with less.

Tre Waters etc. all four stars, Skyler Mayes.

McMahan's team has literally imploded/quit on him.

He has coached this season poorly.

GET OVER IT.

Well said… I like MM but the 14 game losing streak especially being blown out so many times & losing at home to SC was simply unacceptable.

Mwani Wilkinson - 3 year starter, 4 star highly recruited. Played in 3 NCAA Tournaments

Justice Williams - played significant minutes for a NCAA Tournament LSU team last. 4 star highly recruited

Adam Miller - transfer portal 3 star that several legit teams were trying to sign when he hit the TP

Williams: Played 10 minutes a game last year…not significant minutes.

Miller: Preseason 2nd round draft grade as a pure shooter and can’t shoot his way out of a wet paper sack this year

Wilkinson: Great spot up shooter, defender..has never averaged more than 4ppg in his career and has only played in 12 games this year.

Who’s bullshitting? McMahon didn’t “inherit” shite.

It is arguable that Coach Kelly inherited a worse beginning roster than McMahon yet no one has any minuscule issue with rating CBK after year 1.

This is the dumbest sentence I've ever read on TD.

Rubbish. He hasn't been hung in effigy, nor have the trees in his front yard been rolled, nor have any moving vans been mysteriously parked in front of his house.

Get a grip on perspective, sir.

Is It?

True Freshman Offensive Lineman
Transfer QB, RB, DB’s
True Freshman LB
True Freshman TE
Transfer Defensive Lineman
New Kickers

He also kept a solid receiving corps and arguably the best WR in the country.

He retained a backup QB (Nuss) that has a super high ceiling. Got a dual threat QB in the portal people were drooling over, and a freshman QB (Howard) that LSU fans were high on.

Retained some depth at RB, OL, and DL. Smith was regarded HIGHLY prior to the season.

"True freshman LB" like Perkins wasn't a top 10 recruit.

Laughable to compare what BK had to what MM had. I'm not defending MM at all, but it's stupid to say BK inherited a worse roster. I'm also not denying that BK put in a lot of good work in the portal.

MM had literally ZERO players on his roster, whereas BK was keeping some solid talent and plenty of solid recruits who already committed to the program. The top two recruits, Campbell and Howard, were already locked in.

So yes, its the dumbest sentence I've read on TD. By far.

Chemistry. That could CMM’s fault also but this LSU team just looked like just didn’t have chemistry. Maybe a few didn’t like each other?

I agree that chemistry problems were apparent on the team. I noticed it from the start of the season. Players seemed like they had issues communicating and remaining on the same page on both sides of the ball.

A rift in chemistry and communication was apparent between the Murray St. transfers and other players. That's almost a given at the start of the year, especially when the HC has experience with those players.

Ultimately, it is the fault of the coach if his players aren't on the same page on the court. The coach has to control the locker room and maintain the morale and chemistry of his players. I wouldn't doubt if some of the returning players or other transfers on our roster felt a rift or favoritism by MM to his Murray St. guys. Its pretty clear just from watching the games that he favors Juice Hill a lot, even though he doesn't deserve the playing time he gets.

If its frustrating for the fans, its logical to assume its the same for the players.

Add to that no floor leader. No one to turn to when things started snowballing to settle things down. Timeouts by the coach can help but ultimately someone on the court has to take control.

I don’t know what rock you’ve been hiding under reality check with the possibility of sanctions LSU was not going to get an elite level coach to come in here. It’s just the way it is will wade sloppiness put us in this situation. You keep referring to Dennis gates at Missouri one main difference Missouri is not facing possible NCAA sanctions so he could get better players in the portal quality players do not want to come to a place where there’s a possibility of probation and no NCAA tournament. if Wiil Wade escapes the show cause

penalty then LSU will come through this in pretty good shape and then we can start getting players in here, waiting on the NCAA decision

Why would LSU get sanctions for something they Will Wade did at VCU?

LSU was never going to receive sanctions.

I see you have 25 posts. How much is Woody paying you per post? Or are you an AD employee and that is part of your job description.

A couple of times this year after two of our more impressive wins - including this last one, McMahon said post-game "we played like a team tonight".

The insinuation being of course that we have not been most of the year.

How much of that you can pin on the head coach I have no idea - I'm not in the locker room. But certainly that prevents a team from playing their best if they are not.

Hey fat Woody, I never said any of this. Who are you trying to reply?

LSU is not a basketball school and were never going to get an elite level coach. But, they gave an unproven coach too long of a contract and too big a buyout.

Wade may have been very sloppy, but he is a proven winner. If he is coaching again (soon per rumors), he will be winning games while McMoribund is still trying to get his sea legs underneath him.

LSU was picked to finish higher than Missouri by preseason gurus. LSU was said to have had a better recruiting class and better transfers than Missouri. The gurus seem to have been wrong, but McMahon has been outcoached by just about every SEC coach out there. I hope he improves for my sake as a basketball fan and an LSU fan.

If Wade were coaching the team that McMahon has, we would have more wins and would not have been blown out so many times.

I stand by my prediction that we will have a new coach in 4 or 5 years. I may be wrong, but McMahon has so far to go. The base rate odds are against him.
