That coach could be Ron Turner or he could be Jim Tressell....
Same with hiring an experienced coach, nothing is a sure thing at this point. Fact is LSU won't even think coaching change for another year.

Y'all positigers need to quit being so negative. Hell look at miles...he was nothing prior to LSU. We have proven you can take an average at best coach and make him look good...be positive.

I've already stated that tOSU is an exception as they got a good replacement in Meyer.

Which, don't get me wrong, can happen with change. It is just rarer that storied coaches get replaced with storied coaches.

And that's the gamble of firing the winning-est coach in LSU's history cuz it most likely could result in disappointment, if history has anything to say about it.

But you are missing a key point: there's no guarantee Alleva can hire a great coach for a great program.

I'm not missing that point at all.

If there is no faith in Alleva then miles can take him to Michigan if they still want him.

There is no use in defeatism about a new up and comer. Dude, this is LSU and the 90s were called the "Time of Unspeakable Darkness" for a reason.

Now we have a top 10 program with a subpar coach. We have a Top 5 recruiting advantage. The time is now.

And no, you are indeed, not a betting man. THis is a bet that should be taken, or it's this shite all over again. We need a developer.

LSU did great going from Saban to Miles

Or LSU could hit another home run even if it means only a 2-4 year run before bottom falls out, I think I would take a NC or 2 in that span.

They didn't?
Please explain how a NC, a second attempt at a NC, and an all time winning coach is a downgrade.

Great post but you can't live in fear of what might happen with the wrong coach... With great risk comes great reward

Dude went undefeated against a tough scheduled. LSU. Lost the national championship to a team that was better that day, doesn't mean Les was horrible that season. He has won shite just not this year

It's been 7 years since he's won shite. We pay him 4 million a year.

So winning shot is only defined by national titles? He is 68-22 since 2007 which is pretty darn good in the SEC

If you're satisfied with mediocrity that's on you.

Big brother two states over is getting really irritating to listen to every year and I don't think a lot of us are having it anymore.

True, all the great coaches started out as unknowns. The folks who hired them saw talent and took a chance on them. one thing is certain....the current situation is a disaster.

2 teams have won the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP since les.

BAMA and Auburn. that was 4 years ago. Even saban who gets paid double what les does doesnt win one every year. Neither will the next coach at LSU, no matter what we pay him.

He will still be the coach there regardless if Les is fired or not. Even if we hire Jon Gruden, he will still have to coach against saban every year.
